Check your coolant level, that lights double duties for the low coolant also, if its below norm it will throw the light on. Once you top it up you have to turn the car off and restart in order to reset the light. If your level is full then the sensor in the bottle is defective, its cheaper to replace the whole bottle with sensor at a scrap yard.

1998 chevy silverado 7.4L 454 big block v8 dually 4x4 won't stay running. Cranks, starts, then dies. Does not seem to be a problem when it is cool. After running and getting heated up it won't re-start....

do not think alarm would cause this do you have a check engine light on?? there is a coolant temp sensor that reports to pcm it could be out of range you need to hook vehicle to a scanner and check the temp that is being reported by coolant sensor when cold and when hot also may want to look at mass air flow sensor also have you even thought of ignition module what symptoms you have sounds just like an ignition module problem

2006 HHR, check engine light came on, the engine coolant temperature gauge stays at 0 and the coolant link on my panel just shows ----F. Also my remote start won't work

Your coolant temp sensor is not registering. It probably set a trouble code, that's why your remote vehicle start is not working. The temp sensor is located at the rear corner of the engine block on the back side of the engine. This will be the corner of the engine closest to the driver. The temp sensor may be faulty, unlugged or there could be problem in the circuit. Even if you find the sensor unplugged and you plug it in, the code will have to be cleared before the remote vehicle start works again.

Fuel injection, could be a few things. Bad injectors, I forget the term for it but the unit that tells what injector to spray at the right time, or even regulator.
