Question about 2003 GMC Yukon XL

Vauxhall Zafira Diesel. Will only start when easystart ether sprayed into air intake then runs ok.I have changed the fuel filter and cracked open the fuel supply to the injectors when cranking engine to check fuel is reaching them ok.Will not start even when hot.Battery is turning engine over fast enough.No code faults showing.Mechanic is mystified.Can anyone suggest what the fault might be.Regards, Derek

There will be fault codes if you use the correct scanner that has the right protocols for the car system
the problem will be faulty injectors ( squirting and not atomizing) or the fuel pressure is too low to crack the injectors
take it to an accredited specialist diesel shop for a proper diagnosis and quote
continue to use easy start and you will have more than a no start problem as that has the capability of blowing a rod through the sump

SOURCE: engine intermittently stumbles and stalls after taking off from stop

Take carborator cleaner. First take off the big hose on the front of your intake then press gas peddal to open up and then spray it inside this fixed my problem. Jerry

your getting too much air in chamber on igintion probly cause by a faulty intake and or a faulty tps (throttle positioning sensor) sounds like intake is sucking more air that fuel which is giving a bad air fuel mix in chamber also try checking your mass air could be faulty as well

1VDFTV just stopped- has plenty of diesel and winds over but just won't start.

Last time serviced? If low temp. it could be the filter with enough blockage that Fuel filter will not allow "gelled" fuel through. You may be getting air into the system due to tiny leaks somewhere from the tank to engine injection pump. If you have glow plugs for starting that system may not be providing power to the plugs, thus no ignition. Try ether starting fluid into the air intake. If it starts and stalls you are not getting diesel into the engine, or the Glow system is not working. If it won't start with the starter fluid spray, you have bad compression.

What all does it do? If it doesn't crank at all then change the battery, if it just and sputters and then dies then try to plug in the heater and spray ether into the air intake.

My 2001 Mazda cranks up just fine like it wants to start but it just don't it sounds fine so I don't know why it won't start

always ck your fuel pressure first , are you getting gas to the intake , this is the most common thing to ck first , spray a very little ether in the intake just take the air filter cover off do not unplug the maf just spray a spritz of ether in the intake tube , if it starts you have a fuel problem ,some have a fuel relay fuse , this is the first thing to ck , then spark , OH make sure your air filter is good too

hi anon,if you have just changed the filter,check you have replaced both rubber seals,the small one for the screw,and the large one for the filter housing,if both ok,a quick squirt of easy start into the air intake always works,literally less than a second ,is all you need,good luck

Replaced leaking fuel filter, primed filter and now will not start.

IT will never go unless you bled the air out of the system. Find all the bleed screws and pump fuel out until you get solid fuel. Crack the injector line nuts and crank over until there is fuel drops appearing at each nut . retighten the nuts and then there is every possibility that the engine will start
AS an off side ---Diesels are compression ignition engines and that means that they compress the air to white hot and the fuel is then introduced into this air and ignites IF you spray anything into the air intake then this will ignite prematurely and blow the pistons back out of the sump.
Check that the electric stop solenoid is operational and diesels have to have a fast cranking speed so half flat batteries are a waste of time

My vauxhall zafira 2.0 tdi will not start when cold,have changed battery and glow plugs but still same problem. have been told to disconnect coolant temperature sensor but do not know where to locate?

1. New Coil pack
2. New Spark plugs
3. New Battery
4. New Mass Air flow oxygen meter
5. Air filter
6. Oil filter
7. Engine oil
8. Fuel filter
9. Premium Petrol
10. Engine coolent water sensor
Still the same problem. Then changed 'Crank sensor'. And
now the car starts fine without any issue!!

How to repair gas pump

First thing to try and do is to pull the air intake hose off between the throttle body and the air cleaner box. Have someone try to turn it over while you are spraying ether into the throttle body with the flap open. If it starts and dies then you have a problem with it getting fuel. If this is the case then start by replacing the fuel filter (it is under the drivers side of the vehicle right around the door). When you do this you should see an aluminum line that is running to the fuel injector under the hood. Following that line you should see a black cap and under that cap is a pressure relief valve. Qhile someone is trying to start it push down on that to release any air in the fuel line from changing the filter out. When you see fuel come out release the valve and It should start right up. If not , after you release the valve spray some ether in the intake and when it starts put the gas until it stays running and then it should be good to go. To replace the pump you have to drop the gas tank.

Hello. If you remove the fuel filters and fill them with fuel, then hold the accelerator pedal to the floor while cranking the engine it should start. If that does not work, spray a little starting fluid (ether) into the air intake while cranking, just use the ether sparingly. This should get you going again, good luck.

If it has glow plugs or an intake heater you will need to disable the circuit. Then you can use a small amount of ether to spray into the air cleaner.!!! If you spray too much and/or Dont disable the circuits you can damage the motor!!! When you spray the ether, if the engine starts and stalls then its not getting fuel. This could be related to the fuel pump, injection pump, the fuel system loosing its prime(fuel line leak), fuel shut-off valve or solenoid. If it doesn't start then it could be related to your timing, valves or maybe compression.
