Won't turn off
The engine will stay lit until you repair the fault and reset the CPU with a code reader.

There are sensor's in all the wheel and one sensor could be bad or may need to be re-adjusted if it was knocked out of alignment. Good luck and as for the check engine light, that could be something different.

This may be too obvious, but check the dimmer dial on your dashlights. There's a detent in the off position that will turn all dash and cargo etc lights off...

SOURCE: type of battery 1998 ford f150
You can never have too much battery storage capacity. Cranking batteries are rated in CCA (cold cranking Amps) however, so if your engine is diesel I would opt for an 800 CCA but if a pertrol then a 600 CCA will do. I have gone on the high side here in case you live where it gets really cold. (CCA means "able to discharge at the stated rate for 90 seconds")

The engine light does not mean there is something wrong.
It just means there is a code that has been stored, for you to read.
The light will stay on until you read the code and reset it.
A place like Autozone can do it for you for free.
