Question about 2001 Chevrolet Impala

Loss of electrical power resulting in engine shut down

Engine losses power resulting in engine shut off, but will start again right away. Occurs at any speed with or without cruise control. Otherwise engine runs great with plenty of power (205k miles) I have replaced TPS, Mass air flow, Crankshaft and Camshaft sensor along with the Ignition switch. No Codes have ever appeared. I do not know if it could be a faulty electrical connection or what.

I would check ALL grounds first and then main relays. Does this do it at a certain speed everytime or when ever it feels like it ???

Hi. I would try changing the fuel filter. If its partially plugged up you could be starving for gas and that can make your emmission sensors give bad readings. Cant gurentee it, but it would be a place to start.

SOURCE: 1996 s10 2.2 engine starts but idles rough and will not rev up.

Hi! You must be frustrated by now! your code is marking that the O2 sensor is bad in bank 1. Did you replace the O2 sensor that is located  before the catalytic converter?  The S10 has an O2 sensor specially made for that cat. its about 30$ That would explain for your blackened spark plugs; your pc on the car is asking for more fuel. GOOD LUCK!!

Oil light came on car lost power shut off and wont start what should i do

If the engine ran out of oil, then there's some serious damage done. If there was plenty of oil, then the oil pump shaft may have snapped or failed internally. Have a mechanic inspect the cause since he will have the necessary tools and equipment to do the job safely.

Why does my vehicle stall when at idle.

Intermittin Engine Stall
Engine No Start
Missfire
MISFIRE IN motor cylinder is more likely the cause to engine stall and hard start.
You will have to fix this problem first,
A misfire, most the time, is caused by, incorrect cylinder firing order (diagram at bottom). Or no or low cylinder compression
no or low compression is the result of A Vacumm leak.
If the timing chain was recently replaced, the valve cover had to be removed, the valve cover gasket could cause a huge vacumm leak which would effect some if not all 6 cylinders,

Symptoms
Lack/loss of power
Hard start
Engine hesitation

For Now
check firing order( coil pack to sparkplug)
check sparkplugs

NISSAN 3.5 V-6 FIRING ORDER
SPARK PLUG GAP 0.050''
SPARK PLUG TORQUE

Loss of power

Loss of Power while driving down the road can be caused by many different things. What you might try first is to immediately stop the vehicle when this condition occurs, shut of engine, remove fuel filler cap listening for a rushing air sound when releasing/removing the fuel filler cap. If you have this condition it would be best to use either the Dealer or an ASE Certified mechanic that is very familiar with similar problems. I am not familiar with just what is involved on your specific vehicle. Clogged Fuel Filter, Air leaking where fuel line is joined between tank and engine or crimped or collapsed fuel line from running over an object. Any one of these things could be your problem.

If the engine is hot. when you off it will not start again mitsubishi carisma

Vapor lock is a problem that mostly affects gasoline-fueled internal combustion engines.
It occurs when the liquid fuel changes state from liquid to gas while still in the fuel delivery system. This disrupts the operation of the fuel pump, causing loss of feed pressure to the carburetor or fuel injection system, resulting in transient loss of power or complete stalling. Restarting the engine from this state may be difficult.
The fuel can vaporize due to being heated by the engine, by the local climate or due to a lower boiling point at high altitude. In regions where higher volatility fuels are used during the winter to improve the starting of the engine, the use of "winter" fuels during the summer can cause vapor lock to occur more readily.

I had the same problem of loss of power with my Rexton E320, especially at low speed , I changed the plugs but the problem could not go away, until I changed the fuel filter and that problem is gone. I have made a lot of kms now without any such problem, try that, it might work.

I would start with a test drive with a fuel pressure gauge on it make sure you have spec. 35 - 40 psi. Clear codes and record all the freeze frame data in obd2 as you will need this in the diag process. 442 and 456 are evap codes I believe, do they return with the 300 misfire codes? Either way you need to reproduce the problem with the gauge on it and get the first code it sets. Could be fuel pump/filter/sending unit assy. In this case you will need to pay attention to the fuel level when this occurs. (same level as before)
