Question about Cars & Trucks
Gauges need a steady constant voltage, not affected by alternator variation so a voltage stabilizer is used to keep the voltage constant, possible intermittent fault (bad connection) to the stabilizer, generally located on the back of the clock panel. Are the fuel and engine temp gauges affected as well?

I believe that this is caused by a blown Relay or Fuse. I also just went through this. I took my Relays into NAPA and replaced them all, refered back to the diagram and installed the new ones, I also, (unsure if it'll make a difference) turned every fuse to face upright and in the same direction after removing to clean the contact point with a soft tipped metel brush. Overall, replace the Relays and you should be fine.

you may have a bad speed sensor. it sends a signal to ecm then to speedometer etc, OTHER SIGNS: the vehicle may rumble or idle irreguarly when you start it, or it may burn more fuel then normal. also, your car may loose power suddenly due to wrong signals sent from the speed sensor to the fuel system. have a good day !! also vehicle may not be able to set your vehicle to cruise control.

Check dash fuses and relays. You can find fuse box diagrams in your owners manual. Maybe disconected, loose, or damaged connections. Id take it to the dealer and have the dash looked at.
