Steering is very stiff in my 2004 jaguar xjr

You may have a fluid leak. The pipes are prone to leaking on that vehicle. The power steering top up reservoir is under the hood. Refer to reservoir caps for indication or owners manual.

Hey, i have a 2001 bmw 325ci. What happened is that i was driving to school this morning, stopped at red lights, took a left turn and all of sudden my steering wheel just got really really stiff, almost to...

I also 2001 bmw 325ci. Your description of events exactly matches mine, right down to the problem occurring immediately after a sudden turn. Turns out it was the steering pump. I'm not a mechanic but have fiddled around with stuff over the years. I used the following link to replace mine. Saved several hundred dollars. Stiff steering

Check fluid and make sure it filled enough,(make sure that its actually power steering fluid in there and not something else added by mistake for ex. antifreeze etc) make sure there are no leaks. Check power steering belt and and make sure its tight NOT loose or slipping. From personal experience with these vehicle you MOST likely cause of this problem if all the items above are GOOD is a bad power steering pump.

Car started making noise and the wheel became hard to turn

Is the belt on the power steering pump tight or loose does the pump makes a huming noise when turning steering all these are causes of hard to turn steering belt need to be (tight) on pump and pump must not be huming when turning steering add fluid if needed and play with steering to see if help if not need to replace pump
