Question about Buick LeSabre
I have a 2001 Buick Lesabre that I just noticed won't shift into overdrive. I just had the oil changed a few days ago, and I noticed the problem after that. I think maybe a cable was pulled off or something else came loose. I haven't taken it back to the mechanic that changed the oil because I don't know if I can trust them now.
Even good mechanics make mistakes. I'd take the car back to the mechanic who changed the oil and tell him the problem, and ask if he'll check to see if he knocked a connection loose. If he gives you a hard time, take it somewhere else. As you guessed, it's probably just a loose or disconnected wire to the transmission.

SOURCE: Have a 2001 Buick LeSabre.
Rasie vehicle, remove tire, axle nut and caliper. remove tie rod end from spindle, remove lower ball joint nut and seperate from spindle and pull spindle from axle, with pry bar pop axle out of trans housing. it is easyer to replace cvc axle than to replace or repair cvc joint.

There is a pressure sol. in the transmission that is bad . This is a common problem that requires removal of the side transmission cover. The transmission does not need to be rebuilt! Talk to a gm dealer. I have sold over a hundred of these pressure sol. and the side cover gaskets to a real gm transmission mechanic that have fixed this problem. GM parts over 20 years.

On top of the headlight housing are two large knurled black plastic knobs.Unscrew them counter-clockwise.Now the whole headlight housing may be removed. Set it on the bumper and you'll have easy access to the marker light.
