SOURCE: Fuel cap panel

Hi! Check the cable or the latch on the door to see if it is secured properly.
NB The cable is for opening purpose and the latch is for closing.

SOURCE: Petrol Fuel Cap door won't open

I had the same problem. Pressing the fuel door unlock button did not work, and I couldn't find any emergency release in the cargo/trunk area. Eventually, I clicked the Lock / Unlock button on the key fob a couple of times and tried again, this time holding the fuel door release button for 1-2 seconds, and it worked. I then sprayed some door lock lubricant into the fuel door lock in case there was something sticking in the mechanism. Don't know if this truly "fixed" the problem, but it's working now.

SOURCE: S70 remote fuel filler flap not opening , Help needed urgently

My mechanic says this can be due to a brainshort on the part of the onboard computer; if the original driver's side doorlock switch goes on the fritz, it can confuse the computer and mess up the fuel door switch, trunk switch, and even the driver's door key switch (opening twice doesn't unlock the other car doors) - all of which happened on my car.

Hi im driving a corsa sxi+2006 and i cant get the flap open to get into my fule filler cap my central locking works for everything els just not the fule cap and im just about out of petrol please help me

I'd try to have someone help push the fuel flap, (cover) and you try to carefully pry open the cover. It may require multiple hard push on the button. Issue could be lubrication bent, misaligned catch, electrical button, or wiring connections. Possible vandalism. If you get it open, leave it open until you can get it fixed. Warranty? Google your problem, you may find others have same problem and have a "fix" for it.

How do i open petrol cap on bmw 525 diesl

The petrol flap doesn't have a lever to open it like other cars but can be opened when the car is unlocked by pushing on one side of the flap to open, if this will not open then the fuel flap locking actuator is faulty and has not unlocked the fuel flap, if this has occurred open the boot and on the left hand side of the boot you will see a round button, if you cannot see this and you only see a hole then chances are the side cover has been off at some stage and the button hasn't been reinstated, if it is there, pull on it and it will pull the fuel flap locking actuator back allowing you to open the fuel flap.

How to open petrol cap

you may have to get into the boot and remove any trim to the filler tube area. This will give you access to the flap lock system that holds the door closed . If there is a solenoid there you may be able to manually pull the rod that releases the flap lock or move the whole thing to let the flap open

Petrol filler flap stuck in locked position

Sounds like the solenoid is defective, but the petrol cap can be opened by opening the boot and putting your hand down the side of the back panel (petrol cap side). You should be able to feel the solenoid and on the back there is a lever that can be pulled out which will release the petrol cap latch.

Petrol filler flap stuck in locked position

As a temporary solution you can normally force it open use something like a credit card (or credit card size piece of stiff plastic)

This forces it open without damaging the paintwork.

For a long term solution it will have to be dismantled to be cleaned up and greased etc
