I would first look for signs of mice or chipmunks ETC. having been under the hood. remove the air filter box they love to nest in there and if they made a nest in there your engine will not get enough air to stay running also check wires they love eating copper wires. if none of these things help you remove and clean the mass airflow meter.also remove and clean the idle air control valve. that might help you get it back on track. if its been down a long time putting good gas in it is also good idea.as old gas breaks down and losses power.

Jetta 2006 tdi highline i bought 6 months ago i thought is a good car but now i can see black smoke and lost power i send to garage and the mecanic work somthing on timing he say here is 2.5 and i will...

Black smoke from the tail pipe means the engine is not getting any air like a dirty air filter. I think your mechanic is telling you is that you need a new turbo. The turbo boost incoming air pressure to the engine and if it is bad then it will not let enough air into the engine causing black smoke from the tail pipe.

Daewoo nubira 1998 check engine light on idles at 2000rpm

Check to see if the connector has come off the air intake, or if there are any vacuum pipes that have come off. it sounds like a vacuum or air intake fault. If you cannot see any fault with the pipes and connectors, then you should go and get it checked out at a garage that has a fault code reader.
Hope this helps

Hi, Since you have both codes Fuel system lean and MAF low I would bet money on that you have an intake air leak after the throttle. Check all hoses connected to the intake manifold, gaskets, injectors are put in place etc.

My peugoet 406 2.1 litre car has engine management light on and the car will not take full throttle and it is hunting i a have changed the fuel filter

Most likely cause is the air mass meter. These are mounted in the air intake pipe to the manifold. Most garages with diagnostics computers will be able to read the fault and confirm this. Changing it is easy.

My car has been sitting in my garage for 4 months should i change the oil what else do you reccomend i do to the car

If it needs and oil change, change it. If you haven't been driving it then no I wouldn't worry about the oil if it looks good. Pull out the dipstick, is the oil honey colored, maybe a little darker like maple syrup? If so it is good, if it is black and runs off the dip stick like water, change it. As said above check your tire pressure. Also check your tranny fluid, when a transmission sits over concrete for extended periods of time it "draws" out fluid, so if there is some spots on the ground I'd check the tranny fluid (People will say I'm crazy but I've seen it happen to the tranny fluid). Also I'd suggest checking the battery wells if your battery has them. Finally I would start the car if possible atleast ten minutes a month while it is sitting in the garage for extended periods, or if it is not going to be driven/started for a while add fuel stablizer to keep your gas good. If everything looks good (four months isn't that long) you are probably ok. If it gets cold where you are, and the garage wasn't heated, and the tank wasn't full of gas add some heat or something to take water out of the tank due to condensation.
