It could be the Crank sensor or it could be the DI cassette either can just fail without too much or any warning. As I recall failed DI's *sometimes* have a burnt smell or have cracks in them when removed and turned over. Crank sensor is your most likely candidate if it has been others behaving itself with no check engine light.

SAAB 95l 2004 auto 2ltr petrol turbo keeps completely draining battery, WHY????

Check that altinator belt is tight enough, it should be able to move 1/2" up and down on the side with greatest distance between pulleys, if the belt is tight enough the alternator may be damaged or faulty. Hope this helps

Saab 95 2001

first check fuses..then try this..disconnect the battery negative with the key in the run position..all circuits will be dead....then shut the key off..reconnect the battery negative and then turn the key to the run position..DO NO ATTEMPT TO START..wait for 3-5 seconds or until dash indicators go out..this tells you that the factory presets are reprogrammed in the computer..then start the car..see if it works..

1992 Saab, Hello, My Saab ran out of petrol. I filled to half a tank but it still won't start. How to get this started?. Can i put petrol in the carburettor like a start spray, to hopefully boost and...

Hi Mark try spraying some starting fluid in the intake. You asked about putting petrol in the carburettor...your 1992 Saab has a carburettor? Impossible. That vehicle is fuel injected.Spray the starting fluid lightly or you'll flood the engine.

I have a 2002 95 wagon and when i put in reverse

Some smoke is normal in high milage vehicles. As long as there isn't smoke coming from the pipe all the time you will be ok. Mostly what happens is the valve seals will deteriorate and leak some oil into the piston chamber which will burn when the vehicle is started.

Turned off car in driveway, and now it turns over but will not start 2001 9.3 saab wagon

I will assume your car has gas in it....check your the relays in the engine compartment....make sure they are snug and none look burnt. Check your fuses inside the car. If fuses look good and you have gas in your car check your fuel can do this by turning your key to the on position, without starting the car and listen for a humming/whirring noise from the fuel pump....make sure everything is off like radio, a/c, you can helps if you remove the gas cap and have someone turn the ignition on while you listen stand near the gas tank and listen. If you hear the fuel pump kicking on then check your fuel filter....when was it last replaced? Hope this helps...good luck!

95 saab 900 turb0 gauge cluster works intermetanly

I have this problem too and my new Saab mechanic told me that I would probably need a new instrument cluster. He said a brand new one costs $2500 but that he would order me a used one from a car that had fewer miles than mine as you can set them back but not forward. He both diagnosed and temporarily "fixed" the problem by slamming his hand really hard on the dash over the panel and all the lights and gauges immediately started working fine....for now. I haven't had the work done yet (I have a 1998 Saab 900S with 130K) so if anyone has any other ideas about this I would love to know what they are. This issue with the gauges and dash lights has been happening on and off for over a YEAR and this is the first time someone has had any idea what it is. I already had my ignition switched replaced so we know that's not what it was. THANKS
