Remove right rear wheel & look up under plastic shield behind rear brake hose.

Sounds like it is stuck. The location of it is on the passenger side of the motor to the right of the oil filter. Also a good upgrade to your MR2 is to go with a 170 deg thermostat.( TRD) The mr2 comes with a higher temp model witch will run your car hotter. Cooler is better! Good luck!

90 mk2 mr2, recent engine fitted from rev 3 37,000 miles. was going up hill, normal speed and it became reallt sluggish on me, had to down shift to 4th and it died in 4th and 3rd then 2nd, replaced plugs,...


fuel pump? fuel filter? clogged cat? clogged injectors? dirty cap?  dead rotor?  is spark wiring correct? timing right? no idea.  good luck.

on the carte pan,there will be oi leaks?ther ewill be problem with level sensor,or,seen the age,with the connecting wiring full wiht oil and dirt?
clean firqst,if not help,relace elementwhen change oil,
bt,remains very sold engine,and fine car,
