SOURCE: 96 mercury sable ball joint repair

Sadly there are no free online manuals for this vehicle. The best way to find information on repairs for free would be to join a Sable/Taurus car club (since the two cars are the same at this generation.)

SOURCE: lower balll joints to my 2002 lincoln ls are bad

You can purchase the lower ball join on ebay for around $70. The piece will simply "press in" just as any ball joint replacement would. Find a mechanic willing to do the work for you if you bring him the parts. Just go to ebay and search 2002 lincoln ls lower ball joint. It's a fairly small piece, but you'll have to have it installed by a professional. I just replaced mine...

Good luck!

My 2008 MERCURY MARINER is making screeching noise when turning wheel to right. I went over a cement curb when it started!

Sounds like you damaged the bellows that protects the ball joint releasing all or most of the lubricating fluid that protects it hence metal to metal on movement hence screeching noise I hope this helps

How to change lower ball joint on 95 mercury cougar...do you have to take lower countrol arm off to get ball joint out?

i would replace the whole control arm because the bushing are probably worn out too and it's easier than pressing out the ball joints. make sure you have a spring compressor tool when you do this or you could get seriously injured

Diagram to change out the lower ball joints in a 97 mercury mountaineer I was told by the machanic that my lower ball joint on the left front side needs to be replaced. My truck is making a buking noise...

You need a portable press to remove and install ball joint. If you a r e not a mechanic you might be taking on a bit much. There are videos showing how to do it on Utube and many auto parts stores will lend you the ball joint press kit.. Good luck
