Checked all the vacuum lines but it didn't fix the problem. Any other ideas? It is blowing from the top of the dashboard with nothing from the vents or floor.

Do you mean that it won't blow to the floor and on the windshield?  If so I can tell you how to fix that.

There is a vacuum leak under the hood. If it's a 6 cylinder, look on the drivers side for a vacuum line that runs vertical with a 90 degree angle fitting to the manifold. That one usually comes off. If it is a V8 look on the battery side for a broken or corroded vacuum line.

The system is designed to switch to the defrost vents if a vacuum leak occurs, so you can see out the windshield. The line for the system comes out of the firewall beside the evaporator tubes and has a nipple on it. Remove the nippled line from the source line and see if you have vacuum at the source line with the engine running. One end of the source goes to the intake manifold, the other to the vacuum reservoir. If you have cruise control it will also branch off to feed the servo along the way. The line is also hard plastic along some of it's route and has been known to perforate due to heat and age. I would look again before paying someone. I hope this helps.

'98 Jeep Grand Cherokee - My Heat/AC worked intermittently for a few days and now blows only heat. Changing the Heat/AC settings doesn't change the temperature at all. It blows very hot. AC is still...

The control for the AC/Heater door isn't working. To have AC the door has to close so that the hot air is not being blown into the car. When this door is closed it allows the cool air to pass through. This is either controled by vacuum or a ele. switch

Heater problem on 97 jeep

I have a 97 Jeep, I love it but it can be a royal pain in the ***, had this problem however and a cheap cheap fix, had a hole in one of the hoses that was going to my vent. Once you find that little pesky hose you can go to any automotive repair place and get a replacement for like less than a buck and if your lucky like me they will give it to you for free!!!!!!

look for Main A/C relay, look for fuses, or go to a/c shop and have gas check out, perhaps leaks, perhaps evaporator, perhaps condenser, but start for relay box on front passengers side, or fuses on same side
