2001 Holden (Isuzu) Rodeo head gasket kit & timing belt

Can you tell me roughly how much you should expect to pay for a head gasket kit?

Also, when the mechanic was fixing the car he also redid the timing belt. He is now saying that he has to replace the 'central pivot axis??' as the 'Check Engine' light keeps coming on. Can you tell me what this is? As the engine light wasn't on before we dropped it to the mechanic don't think we should have to pay for it.

As far as the price goes, the head gasket set at AutoZone is almost $300 which means you would obviously pay more than that at your mechnic shop.  I will check on the central pivot axis and get back with you.  Did he tell you a code number that is popping the Check Engine light off?

I have just bought a 2003 rodeo apparently they replaced the head gaskett but moisture is getting on the plug lead and causing it to miss. I have had to a mechanic and pressure tested it and could find no problems and did not know why this moisture is on the plug lead and moisture on the top of the plug. Can someone pleqase help.

What is the diffrence between 98 and 01 isuzu rodeo 3.2 engines?

engines come 3 ways, short block, long block or with all , including manifold., so ? which is it?
USA? we cant guess country , so will wild guess this as USA.
the dealers are gone.
so you cant just go there, online and see the whole engine and all parts there.
the engine exchange people know that, why not ask them
or just look at the many sellers on line of rebuilt engines.
modifications are huge. potentially.
  • smog.
  • added mounts. (for newer egr parts... yes, smog) or more....!!!
  • upgrades.
  • moved filters.
  • new heads
  • new oil pump designs.
  • endless list here.?
to find out history why not join a real Isuzu form and ask.
some people keep records there of this topic.

Are the block and heads the same in an 98 Isuzu Rodeo 3.2 and a 2001 Isuzu Rodeo 3.2?

3 places you can get the answer.
1) dealer parts department
2) a salvage yard or parts store like auto zone or advanced auto.
3) a machine shop that does head repair. I would start here and have the donor head checked before i installed it and then found out it wasn't flat.

2001 rodeo motor issues

No vehicle requires any additives for any reason

If coolant is leaving, it has to go somewhere, like
out the head gasket & into the exhaust

Do a combustion gas test & cylinder leak down test,
& check the timing belt & water pump for leaks

I just got my head gasket fix 2001 rodeo. It's missing, my mechanic can't figure out the problem. He also replace the timing belt.

I would be asking your mechanic to do a pressure test , I would bet money that your intake manifold gasket is leaking. I would be a tad upset with the Mechanic!!!
