SOURCE: 2003 Toyota Echo heat not working. Fan, but no heat.

There is a valve on one of the heater hoses that allows heated water to flow through the heater core when you select heat. With heat selected and car warmed up check to see if both of the hoses feel warm. If not then water is not flowing through heater core and valve may need replaced or heater core is stopped up.

SOURCE: How to....remove radio sepakers (rear) from a Toyota Echo??

It's really easy to remove the rear speakers. First, get in the trunk and find the 3 white anchors for the rear deck-they're near the rods for the trunk mechanism. Push them through the metal frame to free the deck. Next, you have to get in the back seat and remove the stop light from the deck. To do this, push in the pins on the locking mechanisms on either side of the light to free the back casing. Pull the pins out and the casing off. Next, undo the two bolts holding the stop light in place and pull it off-don't forget to undo the wiring harness. Next, find the three anchoring points for the back seat. Gently lift the two side ones free of their anchors. This gives you access underneath the deck. Free the deck and gently lift it over the seat. You'll have to jimmy it a little to get the locking clamps free--they're all along the back of the deck. Pull it free and you have access to the speakers. I believe the factory speakers are 5 1/4 inches
Try to use Toyota speaker adapter plugs so you don't need to cut wires and mess the electric system up. You can get them from Ebay or Amazon.

cheers

2003 Toyota Echo will not communicate with inspection machine

I know why. Toyota issued a technical service bulletin (TSB) dated September 8, 2003 applicable to all models, including yours. The bulletin specifies removal of the original DLC3 (OBDII connector cable) and installation of a controller area network (CAN) interface module. You may have to take your ECHO to a Toyota dealer to accomplish this.

TOYOTA ECHO HORN

The problem is one of three possibles:

  1. The horn switch (button) on the steering wheel.
  2. The horn relay.
  3. The wiring associated with the two items above.

If you press the horn button and know where the horn relay is, you can listen for it to activate. If it does, then either the relay's output contacts are bad or the wiring between the relay and horn is faulty. If the relay doesn't activate, test for voltage at the relay coil with an multimeter in the relay socket. If there is voltage there when the horn button is pressed, then the relay is bad. If there is no voltage there, the the horn button or associated wiring is faulty.

My 2003 Toyota Echo horn doesn' work. where is it located?

Try checking the fuse. It should be labeled fuse. It will be in one of the fuse boxes. If the fuse don't work, you probably have a loose wire or perhaps a bad ground. All ground wires are black. You will have to check the wiring circuit to the horn. You will need a voltage meter to test the wires, maybe a wiring schematic would be better. Check each wire and find the one that has low or no current. Change the wire and solve the problem. The circuit is inside the steering column. If you have a question, let me know. I am here to help. Thank you for choosing FixYa.
