Question about 1995 Subaru Legacy
my subaru legacy 95 is having a starter problem, as well as a problem with the shifter (it would lock in park and not start and the button would not go in). We replaced the starter about a year ago. About 8 months ago the car began to randomly not start. The shifter has always been a problem, but usually just needed a little push to bump it out of park. Recently the car will not on a pretty regular basis especially after a drive of 1 hour or more. I replaced the shift lock module 3 days ago and just got a new alternator put in. The battery has been cleaned up and tested multiple times. I am out of ideas and the car just keeps breaking down on me. Could an old alarm system be the culprit?
My 95 legacy just had a problem not moving out of park. I ended up taking the console off and found the little button that is supossed to move when you push on the brake was not moving. With the cover off I can just push it with my finger. There may be a part to replace, I haven't had time to investigate further. I hope this helps. Joe L.
