How to remove the water pump drive belt on a 1999 ford taurus dohc 6cyl

here is a video for the sohc motor is it about the same way

I replaced the tranny in my 96 sohc due to a cracked case. I used one from a dohc thinking it didnt matter since it was automatic. Well I found out that there are different trannys for the saturns. I know...

yes the sohc and the dohc have different transmissions. you can tell which is which by looking at the head of the engine and by checking the wheel size. the sohc had 14 inch wheels and the dohc had 15 inch wheels. that is why your speedo is off and your engine is laboring. also often there is DOHC on the rear bumper.
find one still in a car and have them pull the right one for you.

I have a 96 saturn that i replaced the tranny in with a 95 tranny. when i drive it it will go through the gears. when it goes to shift into 3rd it downshifts. what is causing that to happen

You have to make sure that you are using the correct transmission. If you have a SOHC then you need the SOHC transmission. A DOHC transmission will bolt up but it has the wrong gear ratios for your SOHC and its computer. You will get all kinds of funky shifting if you use a SOHC car with a DOHC transmission or vise versa. Check the stamping on the bell housing of the transmission you put in and see if it has an MP7 or MP6. MP6 trannys are the SOHC transmission, the MP7 is the DOHC transmission.

Replace water pump on 2004 Dodge Stratus 2.4L DOHC

First, I'd recommend you buy a manual, because the water pump is internally mounted, driven by the timing belt. You will also need a puller to remove the crankshaft pulley. You can usually rent/borrow this from the same place you bought the manual. The manual will also show you how to properly install the timing belt and compress the tensioner.
You will need to drain the cooling system, raise the car (safely), remove the right tire, right inner fender, right engine mount (aka front mount), accessory drive belts, timing belt cover, timing belt and tensioner (which needs to be recompressed correctly), and now you are at the water pump. Since the timing belt has to be removed, you should also replace it.

How do I drain transmission fluid (2000 sable ls(dohc))?

On an automatic tranny, the tranny oil pan is removed to drain the tranny fluid - a somewhat messy job. Typically when this done the tranny filler is replaced. A new pan gasket is installed in this procedure.
On the manual tranny, there is a drain plug at the bottom side of the tranny to drain the oil.
I have used a home made setup using a suction pump with small diameter tubing to **** the fluid out from the tranny filler tube. This is when I was replacing the filter and I dropped the pan. I did the suction routine to avoid all that fluid dripping out when you loosen the pan.
Have you located the leak? Is it from the tranny oil pan or maybe from a tranny cooler line?
