The fuel gauge is operated by a small motor which is also used on the amp temp and speedometer.. These are known to be a problem in vehicles from 03 to 05 .. You will have to take the dash appart and unsolder the motor from the printed circuit board also the pointers have to be pried off with say a dinner fork.. and replace it with a new motor which is only about 6 dollars on ebay. thanks and holler if you have problems.. Fuel gauge doesn't work. went on vacation and left nissan parked with all but empty fuel tank. When I returned and filled up, the gauge wouldn't register. Stuck???

Hit the top of the dash with your hand. if not you will have to check the wiring before you can tell if it is the fuel gauge or sender in the tank. This is not a commen problem.

The fuel gauge is eratic

This problem is caused by a defective fuel level sending unit, the sending unit is inside the fuel tank and the fuel tank must be removed from the car to replace the sending unit.

Car is not getting fuel

have you checked the fuel guage, and added gas. theres a small "door" toward the back of the car, if you open it, theres a "cap" of sorts that usually twists off, the hole inside is the place you put the fuel nozzle.
