Question about 1984 Chevrolet Chevy

Starter issue with no turn over but electrical works?

I turn the ignition and the lights and radio go on but the car does not turn over. I pop started the car but got it back in the garage and couldn't restart. I am thinking it is the starter. Do you agree? If so, where is the starter on the 1984 Chevy 305?

The starter is under the engine it has two bolts that go to it . you can check the starter by seing if it gets a signal.their is two wires that go to it a big on has 12 volts straight from the battery and a smaller one that when you turn the key to start it gets a 12 volts to it.If you get 12 volts when you crank it up your starter is bad.Its very easy to remove make sure you unplug the battery before you work on it.Remove the two 9/16 bolts and power wires and it comes straighy down.

Dashlights and high beams wont come on

Play with the ignition switch,If you can disable the starter when the engine is running and can do it in a very safe manner, this way you can turn the ignition and check to see if a ignition electrical part is failing, If you cant disable the starter just be careful how you turn the ignition you are only ruling out the ignition switch electrical part as possible problem or even the solution

My 97 civic will not start. I have a good battery, lights and radio work, but when I turn the ignition- nothing. I have power to the starter but I do not have power on the small ignition wire that connects...

useing a tester, make sure you are getting electric to the starter. if you are, the starter needs replaced. if you are not then there is a problem with-in the electrical cicuit

Key wont turn in ignition. I am getting

I would check the battery first before I started condemning any other systems. It is possible that it has enough of a charge to make the lights come on a little but not enough to turn the starter motor. The starter requires a much larger amount of electricity than the lights.

It wont start ot turn over when you turn the key it dont even make a sound

Do any of the interior light work? Does the radio work? If the answer is no, then the first thing to check is the battery and its connections.
If lights, radio and other things work, then you could have a problem with ignition switch, starter solenoid, starter or a wiring issue.
