Dave, The P0700 code is a generic fault code indicating the the TCM (transmission control module) has recognized a problem and the P0755 is the indicated problem. I'd recommend you check your transmission external electrical connector for water intrusion and corrosion at the terminals by disconnecting the connector. If nothing appears wrong, I'd then recommend you drop the lower transmission pan and take a look at the residue deposit that is laying on the bottom of the pan. You should only see a relativily minor amount of grayish, black clutch material residing there. Pay particular attention for a gross amount of this or any large particular material, including any metal, either filings or chunks, or any brass or aluminum. If this checks out to be fairly clean, then I'd recommend you replace that "B" solenoid (2-3 shift solenoid) and have the trans. pan and filter replaced.; I'd also highly recommend you have the trans flushed for anyother particular matter that may reside internally inside the transmission. You'll have to have the codes cleared and the transmission relearned for shift feel, at that point.

Try replacing the transmission filter and the trannie fluid. Mine would only go in reverse, and now it drives pretty well. This year has a screw on filter. Hope this helps

there is a linkage inside the transmission that came off or lose so you might have to take it to a mechanic to get in there and repair so do not start car no more and you might have to have the car towed to a mechanic to look at it.

I would say it is possible an overheated engine which is not coolling the transmission can trigger a lot of lights. Many transmissons are heated and coolled by a line which goes to the radiator of the engine cooling system.

Shift - interlock system problem .
Automatic Transmission Shift Lock Control System
The automatic transmission shift lock control system is a safety device that prevents an inadvertent shift out of PARK when the engine is running. The driver must press the brake pedal before moving the shift lever out of PARK position. The system consists of the following components:
• The automatic transmission shift lock control solenoid
• The automatic transmission park lock solenoid
• The automatic transmission shift lock control switch
• The transmission range switch
With the ignition in the ON position, battery voltage is supplied to the automatic transmission shift lock control switch. The circuit continues through the normally-closed switch to the automatic transmission shift lock control solenoid. The transmission range switch provides a path to ground for the automatic transmission shift lock control solenoid in the PARK position. With the automatic transmission shift lock control solenoid energized the shift lever is mechanically locked in the PARK position. When the driver presses the brake pedal, the contacts in the automatic transmission shift lock control switch open, de-energizing the automatic transmission shift lock control solenoid. This allows the shift lever to move from the PARK position. When the shift lever is out of the PARK position the controlled ground contacts in the transmission range switch open. This prevents the automatic transmission shift lock solenoid from energizing when the vehicle is out of the PARK position.

Transmission won't shift out of first


You likely have a bad transmission solenoid, which chrysler is famous for. the symptom is just as you describe, car/van/truck shifts down to and stays in first - to get you home in limp mode. Once it cools off a while it may run fine for an hour/day/week and the the problem returns.

Not a real expensive fix.

Do you drive with o/d on or off for normal driving when do you use it


You can drive with the switch on or off, it doesn't matter. Most vehicles default to the "on" position every time the engine is started, I'm not sure if yours does. The reason you can select the O/D off is because in some driving conditions the transmission will shift in and out of overdrive several times and it gets a little annoying. These conditions could be while driving up a grade at freeway speeds or driving at close to normal speeds but in heavy traffic. Every time the transmission shifts, it generates a little heat. Normally that heat is dissapated through the cooling system, but if the transmission keeps shifting in and out of overdrive, expecially in heavy traffic or climbing a grade, the cooling system may have a hard time keeping up. If you feel the transmission shifting in and out of overdrive more than usual, and you're in an abnormal traffic condition, go ahead and turn the O/D off. Just remember to turn it back on again when traffic returns to normal so you can get the best fuel mileage.

Transmission won't shift when engine heats up


Dear Madam or Sir,

if the problem has an electrical cause, the oil temperature sensor is defective, this should be checked first.

If the sensor is working good, there is a mechanical problem with your transmission due to worn bushes and / or gaskets. The viscosity of the oil is decreasing while heating up, if there is a worn gasket the shift pressure drops and the transmission won´t shift.

When the car is warm the transmission will not shift


Dear Madam or Sir,

if the problem has an electrical cause, the oil temperature sensor is defective, this should be checked first.

If the sensor is working good, there is a mechanical problem with your transmission due to worn bushes and / or gaskets. The viscosity of the oil is decreasing while heating up, if there is a worn gasket the shift pressure drops and the transmission won´t shift.
