B1676 - how do you reset this code?

I recently had to replace the alternator and the battery still getting this code and P0622 code. Also the "check charging system" and battery light coming on. Had both battery and alternator tested several times now and neither are testing bad.

Fusiable link wire? Are you talking about the wires that are directly connected to the fuse box?

Try disconnecting the negative battery cable for a minute or two. Then re-connect cable and start the car. Good luck.

SOURCE: replaced alternator and battery 2x and only works for short time.

This could be caused by a faulty voltage regulator, but since it has happened on more that one alternator, that can't be the problem, right? The next thing that I would look at would be a defective or loose belt. Also check the tensioner to make sure it is working properly and is keeping tension on the belt. If the belt is slipping or is worn out, it will cause voltage fluctuations. You may want to look at changing or at least inspecting the belt. Hope this helps and best wishes.

SOURCE: my battery light is on

Sounds like your voltage regulator is acting up, and at times will not let alternator voltage reach the circuit. At this point car stars drawing on battery alone (triggering battery light) and working until it is out of juice. Before you buy a new voltage regulator, make sure that its contact points on the alternator, and the plug from it to the vehicle circuit is clean, shiny and making good contact. These parts, due to their location tend to collect dirt and moisture, leading to an intermittent performance before they stop working completely.

Alternator went out, truck died, Towed on hauler. Replaced alternator and now gages go crazy Codes are B1676, C1226, P0460 and P1000 I read if its driven the syst1em will reset itself. Is this true?

If the battery voltage is low it will set codes that are not prudent. It is not a good idea to charge a dead battery with the alternator as it causes the alternator to run at high amperage.Charge the battery, clear codes and retry

I have an 2002 Cavalier Z24. I recently brought it in for repairs. The Technician replaced the ECM/PCM and it's still acting the same way....the alternator just won't charge the battery. it's a new battery...

Hey Joe , The first thing to do would be check for battery voltage on the heavier gage wire on the back of the alternator , if there is no voltage here there is a open circuit ! Which means the fusible link fried . This wire comes from the starter ! This charging system is controlled by the PCM , but they are rarely the problem . Do you have the charge indicator lit on the dash ? Do you have a check engine light on ? This system can set DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes !
DTC B1328 DTC P0562 DTC P0563 DTC P0621 DTC P0622

2001 Dodge Intrepid- What does P0622= Generator F-term. Field F control, and P0403= EGR flow circuit malfuntion mean? Thank you

If you've replaced those parts according to the codes, you need to have the codes cleared from the computer, otherwise the car will think you still have the bad parts on, and stay in what they call Limp Mode! Sometimes you can take it to an Autozone, and they can clear it for you! Otherwise you need to have a shop clear those computer codes for you!

P1684, P0622, P0403, P0134. These are the codes that I got from my scanner, what do they mean? Thank you

My guess is you may have wired something up wrong, or installed a faulty part. Either that or forgot to plug something back in while you were putting it back together. In other words replacing a battery and alternator shouldn't cause the oxygen sensor to go bad. So my suggestion is to check all plugs and wires to make absolutely certain everything is put back together correctly before you sink more money into fixing what's not broken. Haynes repair manuals list all the engine fault codes so for everyone else reading this, if you get codes check your manual or head to the library to look it up in theirs.

2000 ford expedition I changed plugs pcv egr valve cover gasket I am still getting power loss and hesitation in drive and sometimes it stalls plus I have a b1676 code

There is no B1676 DTC. You probably mean P1676 which refers to incompatible injector data. Probable causes are:
1. Control unit software needs updating
2. Faulty PCM or ECM

Checking these two probable causes may get performance back to normal.

Sounds like its time to replace ecu pcm. But try resetting it first. Remove negative battery cable and turn key all the ay for 1 min. Then pull positive off and touch the negative cable with positive cable and hold for 5 seconds. Make sure they are not touch battery terminals at all. Good luck

Need to know what p0622 and p2503 diagnostic codes are. is this my battery? this is on an 2005 grand caravan

Sounds more like an alternator problem. Check output voltage of alternator, code P2503 indicates low voltage. Check/clean all connections at battery and alternator, as well as check all fuses/relays under hood in fuse relay box, just in case fuse blown as well. If all checks out good, you may need a new alternator.
