SOURCE: 2003 Ford Escape leaking red fluid

Sounds like you need a new power steering hose. To verify this, I would dry up any wet areas on the hose and pump with a towel, get a flashlight and start the vehicle and try to determine the exact site of the leak which is usually at the ends of the hoses. Good luck!

If the cruise lamp comes on and the cruise does not set i would advise inspecting the cruise cable and make certain it is not broken, if ok the the servo has likely failed.

How do i fix a 91 isuzu truck manual trans. 2.5L that u start and is all good to start as soon as engine runs its running at high rpms.

old car, very old
this is easy, to find, but can be many things, my tests cut this to 2 reasons. mostly. (leaks and isc failure tests)
1: ISC system is dead, (stuck idle speed contr. valve)
2: throttle cable stuck or set wrong, (must have slack)
3: vacuum leaks, on all cars with map sensors, vacuum leaks make the ISC loose control and RACES fast with full engine power. all MAP based EFI SYSTEMS, "speed density systems:

2004 jeep cherokee idles high when started and stays high?

all jeeps use a MAP sensor
"speed density system" ways and means.
and all race with air leaks, (aka. vacuum leaks) with full power.
did you scan the PCM first?. that be first in every case.
if not , you work totally blind. (must we?)
no engine stated. (size and fuel matters)
making accurate answers impossible.!

2004 Cherokee, not here, not in USA< on this USA forum.
my guess its really a

"KJ / Since 2002 The Liberty (called Cherokee outside USA, very odd that)"
so to USA readers its a Liberty. for sure.
in what country ive not a clue, nor what engine options
they use THERE.

i have the 2002,and 05 KJ FSM book.
i see the exports have diesels. got diesel?
our KJ have 2.4L or 3.7L engines.
both race , with vacuum leaks.

one leak that can happen (not guessing)
1: throttle plate gunked up and now leaks air, because the throttle can not close fully.
2: ISC stuck open. (idle speed control valve)
3: vacuum hoses cracked, or just fell off.?

and 50 more ways to leak air, huge.. .in the real world.
we pinch hoses and use propane gas to find leaks
or the smoke machine.

I have a 97 jeep Cherokee that in park idles at 2000 to 2500 rpm. What is causing this?

hot engine or cold
on hot engines, that is air leaks.
every time.
or
  1. the engine does race for any air leaks (MAP sensor does that magic)
  2. ISC or IAC idle valves dead or stuck open,
  3. vacuum leaks for 20 ways.
  4. is this 4L engine, the ISC loves to stick open, LOVES.
  5. throttle cable no loose, off of gas pedal, dah factor 1.
  6. throttle valve blocked open by CRUD there. cause same as #5

i think i covered it all ways.
im a vacuum leak finding expert. (have smoke machine will not travel) LOL

Gas pedal gets stuck and keeps the car going cant stop without turning the car off

dont drive it. find the cause and fix it now.
Hot and cold engine or BOTH>?
1995 Tracker, no tranny , no 4wd , on engine options stated.
Exact high RPM in neutral, not stated...... 1500 is normal cold.
keeps going in Neutral. (nah , you have 5 ways to stop any car.
key, hand brake, foot brake and neutral. and with 4wd, 1 more neutral.
keep that in mind driving any car.
this car has up to 3 throttle cables that can stick. and more!

1: floor mats hit the pedal>? ala. Toyota style (lawsuits)
2: the three cables are, throttle. , cruise and A/T transmission kick down cable. if car is M/T and no cruise it has 1 cable.
so disconnect it, throttle fixed? (disconn,. 1 by 1, bingo?

no cure?, then its not the pedal , you meant just high idle.
yes, replace the cable or bad parts three.
ok say its not the cables.. (tests proved that)
the 95 came with 2 engines, 8valves and 16valves,
they work differently (8v love so race, 16v loves to stall)

1: ISC Stuck open, common.
2: 8v, any air leaks at all , will cause super high idle speeds.
3: throttle valve in the throttle body is stuckopen (gunk) or the return spring broken (very very rare the latter,in fact never heard of one breaking)
4: IAC (thermal idle control stuck open ,(my 97 was). and lots more.
5: on the 16v it takes 2 failures. to make high idle.
gross rich running engine (cold engine its normal) and any air leak
once hot the engine can not race unless there is huge overfueling
and an air leak.
6: the 8v has this device on the side of the throttle body.
called a dash pot. its just a fast idle vacuum servo.
if stuck open the engine will scream full time....
7: ECU stuck in limphome, can cause too high idle speeds.

we need to know which engine
http://www.fixkick.com/find-parts.html
8v or 16v first.
then does the idle race hot or cold or both (engine temperatures)
if it races , then how fast?, RPM the dash tachometer tells you that.

it can be as simple as a 50cent hose cracked.
to a dead ISC. (idle speed control) IAC is thermal idle air controller.
the IAC must be closed on a hot engine,
if the the engine never gets hot,it will scream full time.

Throttle seems stuck on a 1995 ford probe as when engine is started it races with no control

This sounds like a major vaccum leak or a stuck IAC(idle air control) motor.Look for a loose/broken vacuum line(a large hose feeds the brake booster and the PCV valve).(my stepson's Sable had a rotten vacuum elbow).

I have a 1989 ford bronco full size. my throttle cable is sticking open a bit and in order to get it to rev down i have to pop the hood and push it back with my finger. how do i fix that?

probably is not the cable and more likely the throttle that is biding on you

disconnect the throttle cable from the throttle body and try increasing the engine speed with the linkage on the throttle body

if you find the engine is still running fast then your concern is in the throttle body. Clean the inside with a soft, link free rag and some good soap and water...avoid brake cleaner at all costs!

if when controlling the throttle with the cable disconnected and the engine does NOT race, then your concern is in the cable and you'll have to replace it ASAP

1992 ford 3.0 liter has fast idle

That isn't alot to go by but you may have a broken throttle return spring, sticking throttle cable, a TPS(that is out of range), a vacuum leak, a defective IAC valve(idle air control valve) and/or maybe the engine light is on. If so have it scanned for codes. Good luck.
