Saturn outlook won't start. fuel pressures good, spark is good

Sure spark is good? A weak coil will show spark but when it has to jump the gap in a high pressure, compacted environment, the spark may not be strong enough to jump the gap and fire the mixture. Try a new coil.

55 ford thunderbird points are firing, but no fire to plugs.

if you have a "barn find"and it has the original leads the spark will probably jump off the leads, other than that look at the top of the coil for flash over or the dist cap for cracks, sometimes the rotor also cracks under the brass strip which you cannot see and the spark jumps to the dist shaft, take lead off coil and position it 1/4 inch from the engine and crank,if you see spark jump the gap, thenreconnect it and do the same with the spark plug leads from the dist to see if the spark comes back out of the dist,if no spark from coil it may be internally shorted

Sparks jumping from spark plug wires in 1995 chevy g20 van the wires are new and so are the plugs cap and rotor and coil

replace the leads with a heavier grade of lead insulation Use spacer bars to seperate the leads as the current will jump to the lead of lower resistance ( ie piston not in compression mode). Spark jumping will cause problems not the least being a blown motor through firing at the wrong time

My 1992 Honda civic is missing on one cylinder, has compression, has spark and I replaced the fuel injector, what could be wrong

I had the same problem, and I found it by running the car in a low lighted area. I saw the spark jumping out of the #1 cylinder wire to the top of my metal valve cover. I replaced my wires and all was well. My wires had long plastic boots that inserted into aluminum tubes. It was an over head cam motor, so there was quite a reach to get to the plug. Anyway, take the wire off, put a spark plug in it. (not the one in the cylinder, leave it there.) get a new plug, or old plug. lay the wire so that the spark plug tip is touching metal. start your car and look to see if the spark is jumping across the gap of the plug or jumping out earlier somewhere along the wire.

My 1991 240sx is jumping time how do i fix it

you'll most likely need to replace the timing belt and tensioner if it's jumping time, note;;if it's jumping time, does it keep starting? are you sure it's the time thats jumping or is that a guess?most 240's don't just restart after jumping time, they will not restart, unless you adjust the distributor. are you moving the distributor? to make it restart? if the car is just 'jumping' there may be another problem. such as a bad spark plug wire, or a bad plug. also could be a clogged fuel injector. if the car runs at idle byitself, try running fuel injector cleaner through it from the gas tank[recomennd lucas fuel injector cleaner] if not repaired then check for bad spark plug wire, if not that check plugs for a bad spark plug.hope this helps!!

Tried to jump my 2003 galant and the cables would spark when trying to connect negative

Be ceratin you have jumper cables to correct terminals. Also, you may connect both jumper cables to the battery of the car your getting power from (be certain not to let other ends of cables touch) connect the positive lead of car being jumped to the battery's positive terminal, then connect the negative lead to the cars ground, not directly to the negative on the battery. Getting a spark when jumping is very common. You do not want to create the spark at the battery because the fumes from the battery acid can be explosive...... That can go very bad! When removing remove the grounded, to the jumped car, and then carefully remove the rest. Again be certain to not let the leads touch.

Please let me know if this had assited you,

Kia mentor 1.8 ist and 3rd cylinder not working changed the plugs leads and injectors the compression is good but the prblum is still there

check to see if the coil on cylinder 3 is sending out a spark to do this use a tester. they can be purchased at an auto parts store. they look like a spark plug but the end is open to see if the spark will jump under compression. a normal plug will jump with no compression but sometimes will not jump under compression

No power to fuel pump and no spark jump power to

Spark comes to the plugs, via through the ignition switch ( in the on position) to the primary side of coil. Possibilities ignition switch, distributor cap , rotor, plug wires, coil, control module. If you remove the coil, control module these can be tested at Autozone for free.

96 linc want start

check the timing and spark, chains and belts like jumping in the cold as everything is stiff and doesn't want to turn,if your timing has jumped or slipped that would cause it. so first check if you have spark when you crank the engine, some cars if you disconnect a plug wire it shuts off the spark, see what method your car has for checking for spark.. start there.
