I would check with an oil/lube co on this issue.I personally would not.Sometimes when you change blends a vehicle will start burning oil.

SOURCE: I can not find the oil pan plug on my srx 2006

it is on the passenger side of the pan, if you cannot find it, you are probably looking at the trans pan, the oil pan will not look like a normal pan, it will be square and aluminum with all kinds of diamond looking deep etches in it.

SOURCE: Replacing front turn signal bulb on 2006 Cadillac SRX

wow i feel sorry for you because Cadillac designed this bulb to be a don't get to bulb but OK here's what you do take the bottom cover off or skid plastic panel under neath the front end theirs little plastic clips holding it on just get come dikes and don't cut them but just use it to help pull them out. after you get that off use a flash light and locate your light housing you should see two screws holding the house in i think those screws are 8mm i cant remember remove those two screws and be careful the metal from the bumper cuts you pull the light housing out and remove all the screws around the housing and open the housing up replace the bulb and make sure your contact to the bulbs clean and then reassemble the way you took apart. if you cant get it well then best bet is take it somewhere i know Cadillac charges an arm and a leg so you can go somewhere else.

SOURCE: engine lite on 2006 cadillac srx

If the check engine light is on, then I suggest taking the car to an autoparts store and have them scan the computer for codes stored. Most parts stores will do the scan for free. The check engine light comes on to alert you that the computer has noted a fault in one of the car's systems and getting the codes will show what the computer identified so that appropriate corrective action can be taken. Hope this helped and best wishes.

What type of oil should be used in a 2004 Toyota V6 4runner, natural or synthetic and what weight?

Any good API (American Petroleum Institute) approved 10w-30 0r 10w-40 oil is factory recommended. The question of Synthetic or not is a matter of personal prefs. If the rig has high mileage I might lean towards one of the synthetic blends instead of full synthetic. Syns are good, but if vehicle hasn't been using it since new, adding it may alter wear pattern of moving parts and start using oil. A blend is the best of both worlds.

Have a ford 2005 explorer. Manual recomends motorcraft oil which is synthetic blend. Can I use Pennzoil instead? took it for oil change once and they used quaker state.

Regardless of the manufacturer the oil needs to meet SAE specifications in order to have the rating it carries. You can use any quality oil including a full synthetic with no problems providing you use the proper grade (SAE#)

Oil specifications

The motor oil from the factory is motocraft synthetic blend 5w-30 for normal conditions and motocraft synthetic blend 5w-20 for cold environments. But any synthetic blend or full synthetic of equal weight will do just fine and you will require 5 quarts of oil. DO NOT USE A THICKER WEIGHT OIL, OIL ADDITIVES OR NON SYNTHETIC. Thicker oil like 10w-30, 10w-40, 20w-50 will not be thin enough to lubericate the tighter clearences of the motor and coventional oil breaks down faster than a synthetic blend or synthetic. And be sure to change the oil every 5,000 miles

Why not? Of course it can! What could happen to (any) engine because of that? A little bit worse (1 to 3%) fuel efficiency since 5W-30 is thicker than 5W-20! But, I'd ask you right now: Why you even consider synthetic blend? If you think that synthetic part (max 30%) in blended oil is going to improve mineral part you voluntarily admit that synthetic is better. USE (FULL) SYNTHETIC and have all the benefits - better mileage, extended drains, cleaner engine, better winter start, smoother operation... Want more? Why to waste natural resources if you can have simpler and better maintenance with synthetics? Do not forget good air and oil filters! They keep engine's longevity! If you want recommendation(s) - use Amsoil (XL oil for 7500 mi) or Mobil (extended). All others are (poorer) copies of them! For the filters - again Amsoil! Absolutely better than K&N! Same air flow and 50 times (!!!!!) better filtration. (If you need more info call 519-739-3765)
