I changed plugs and ing module and still have no spark any ideas?

I don't know liter size of engine? If cylinder misfire, it should set a trouble code for that cylinder, then you check fuel--spark--compression for that cylinder.
If you have the 2.2L engine, then the ignition module sits right on top of spark plugs. You can turn the module up side down, use a known good plug in each boot, reconnect the module wiring connector. You need to turn the assembly so metal part of spark plugs touch metal part of engine or use a jumper wire from metal part of spark plugs to metal part of engine, have a helper crank it, while you watch for spark. If you got spark everywhere, then check fuel, and so on.
If you have spark plug wires, I have found a digital multimeter is sensitive enough it will react to inductive voltage. With engine running just touch each spark plug wire in turn and take a reading. You don't penetrate the plug wire or take it loose. I have seen readings about .6 or .7 volts, the point is most of them should have close to same reading, so if you get one or two that the reading is bouncing off zero, you know where to look.
I'm not saying it will work on every year--make--model, I don't know? It has worked for me, in the past.

Will not start. fuel pressure is good. I changed the ing control module and the coil, new dist cap and rotor. new plugs.


Instead of just bolting on parts, run tests. Do you have spark at the plugs? If not, could be crank sensor. Do you have compression?

2000 chev blazer 4.3 new engine no spark to plugs new coil ,ing coil module,cked plugins,new plug wires,cked grounds,no spark


With out checking it out myself,,,My guest would be the (VCM) Vehicle Control Module...

Has no spark. replace the control module and still no spark


first check for power at distribuitor terminal if pwr replace ing coil, if no power check ing switch, also a common problem is some one accidentally cause a spark or short one of the fuse links by the starter may be open check them all.

Hey, your right about code 42 being the Electronic Spark Timing. The Electric Spark Timing Bypass curcuit or EST circuit is either grounded or open. A malfunctioning HEI module can cause this code so I suggest maybe trying to replace the HEI module. Good luck!
