Question about Cars & Trucks
1998 cadillac deville intermittment starter problems, not even a click so i am thinking maybe the relay or solenoid, not the starter
I would be prepared to pull the starter and have it bench tested for a dry joint on one of the windings of the armature. If the armature stops spinning and this winding is under the brush there will be nothing until the armature moves until the brush can make contact with the next winding and then it will spin. The test will show if the solenoid is faulty

Take off the plastic cover with the Cadillac emblem that sits on top of
the engine. Take out the intake manifold to get to the starter engine.
Put in the starter replacement and when reassembling the manifold use
new gaskets. Put back the cover on top of the manifold. It's a rather
simple job, but be sure to use new gaskets and do not over tighten. I would also suggest that you get the Haynes manual for this car (notice I said Haynes, the other type manuals that are not from the factory are ****!).

Are you sure that you don't mean the cooling fan control module? It should be located up front next to the cooling fan. It is square shaped and has a long square shaped plug going into it. Reads the temperature of the coolant and passes the information to the engine control computer (ECC). The ECC receives analog information and signals the cooling fan switch to cycle the cooling fan on or off, as required.

I have a 1999 Cadillic Deville. The low Frefrigerant indicater come on after about 15 minutes of disconnecting the battery power. Each Time I reset the power the air conditioner comes back on for a while then goes out. I have taken it into the local auto repair place and they find no problem with the unit.
Could this be a intermittent connection to the computer. They have replaced both sencors and the problem persists. Where is the computer located on the car that handles this AC sensor message?
