Question about 2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue
Wipers had been stuck in the vertical position. This I started the car and the wipers were on but could not move the heavy snow. They stopped functioning at that point. Fuse maybe?

SOURCE: wipers wont come on
THEY CALL IT YHE WIPER TRANMISSION. THE LINKAGE THAT IS CONNECTED TO THE WIPER MOTOR FELL OFF BECAUSE THE NUT THAT KEEPS IT SECURED TO THE MOTOR LOOSENED & FELL OFF ALLOWING THE LINKAGE TO FALL OFF OF THE WIPER MOTOR.FIRST YOU HAVE TO GET A NEW NUT TO HOLD ON THE LINKAGE (IT MIGHT BE RIGHT UNDER THE WIPER MOTOR IF THERE WAS SOMEPLACE FOR IT TO FALL)REINSTALL THE LINKAGE, (IT ONLY FITS ONE WAY) PUT ON THE NEW NUT (TIGHTEN IT ENOUGH BUT MAKE SURE THE WIPERS CAN STILL ROTATE) AND YOU SET

If it has a automatic transmission make sure it's in park (try pushing the shifter while twisting the key). Try wiggling the steering wheel while twisting the key. If the car is parked for long periods of time the ignition cylinder could be sticking (try spraying WD-40 in around the key). I had a classic car and the key fell out while the engine was running. And when I turned it off I couldn't turn it again even with the key, I had to replace the lock cylinder.

Try replacing the Wiper Motor Pulse Board Module. It is available at aftermarket parts stores, it is easy to replace, and it is a high failure item. Eventually, the module will fail completely and leave you with no wipers.

SOURCE: wipers stuck up
your wiper park tab got bent, you can buy a whole new wiper motor chasis from GM or save a ton of money and bend it back w/ pliers. i reinforced mine with epoxy putty after straightening it so it wouldnt happen again (happened to me twice)
