2003 ford expedition only has 6.5 volts to the fuel pump

Car will turn on for about 2 secs and cut off. changed fuel pump same issue

Several possibilities. Crankshaft sensor regulates fuel pump pressure with RPM. Misreading RPM by bad crankshaft sensor lowers voltage to fuel pump.

Fuel pressure regulator can charge injectors for start and then fail to maintain pressure. Check your pressure to see what you have.

check your fuel pump relay and your ignition switch those numbers you gave for voltage are not right, please recheck that you have a ground and 12volts at the pump while cranking please rate -jeff

1st it must be the correct engineering number, not just the same year, but the exact same number on the sticker. then it must be programmed by the dealer

Where is the fuel pump fuse on 2003 4.6 ford expedition


What's up ! your fuel pump fuse is in the central junction box , but you also have a fuel pump relay , a Inertia fuel cut out switch .The central junction box is located -

under dash panel, RH side fuse F1.34 20amp fuel pump

On my 2003 ford expedition, on the first turn of the ignition the car would not start. I would have to turn the ignition at least 3 times for the car to start. I changed the starter but still the same...


I'd check your fuel pressure...how long has it been since the fuel filter was changed.
A restricted fuel filter or weak pump comes to mind since you've got the electrical checked...

I have a 2003 ford expedition. Recently, the vehicle would shut off completely at random times...you could be driving 10min or 2 hours, it would not restart immediately after wards, you would have to let...


Check out the fuel pump on an oscillscope
Check the fuel pressure at the fuel rail
Need a clean fuel filter

Check TPS with a scope

I say scope because it will show you
quickly what is going on,where as a
volt meter only gives you numbers (volts)

Scope the O2 Sensors also or replace if
at 100,000 miles (front 2 only)

Spray throttle plate and MAF Sensor
with the CRC Products for those two

2003 Expedition jerking/cutting out.


Had same problem: cutting out at low rpm, jerking, a huge clunk or shudder at higher speed (like transmission was going out), and rough idle. All these symptoms were intermittent.

CHECK THE FUEL FILTER!! Changed the fuel filter and thing runs fine!!

PS mine 2003 expedition has 105k

your gonna have to check the basics fuel pressure and spark and go from there. listen for fuel pump when you cut key on
