The shift solenoids are located on the valve body of the transmission.depending on the vehicle they are either external on the front with a wiring harness attached or they are internal which means the you have to drop the trans pas and the valve body, but be careful not to loose any of the check balls. The solenion pack will be mounted to the side of the valve body with 2-3 bolts.

Where is the torque converter solonoid and the shift solonoid located on a 1998 chevy k2500 4x4

They are located on the valve body inside the transmission. Do a search for the valve body location.
Good Luck!

I got a code p1747 electronic pressure control solonoid short circuit where is this located and will that cause my truck to throw all the shift solonoid codes

The solenoids are inside the transmission, if you are getting more than one code you may have a problem with the wiring harness going into the trans.

Have a P0757 DTC in a 2007 fusion . reader says that solonoid B is stuck on. need to know how to trouble shoot solonoid ,wiring and connectors all the way to the PCM.

Real Simple

You fail to realize that the Black Fluid is the result of the
former owner not changing the fluid & it was black from
over heating as a result

You are in denile & fail to realize that the clutches have
burned up & that is why the fluid is black

I did once own a trans repair business,so your only option
is to pull the unit & rebuild it

Your Ford Tech had a good idea but didn't want to help you
or hurt your feelings, asumming he knew anything at all about
transmissions.

I could have told you all this without opening the hood, before you
got the car.
No fluid changes every 3 years, the unit comes out

My 99 jimmy's 4x4 will shift from time to time but not without playing with buttons and turning the vehicle on-off. I've cleaned connectors on the dash acctuator and the module behind the kick panel but...

having had siimilar issues, I found my problem to be a non functioning solonoid that is the electronic switch for shifting from 2 to 4Hi....it was located under the battery tray. My mechanic had to follow the cord to find the solonoid, and once replaced shifts fine.

My 95 olds cutlass v6 3.1L sometimes wont shift out of third gear and it just completely shut off on the thruway... what does this mean?

Its possibly a bad shift solonoid on the trans itself. These trannys' 4T60E have 3 solonoids for shifting 1 for 1st and 2nd, 1 for 2nd to 3rd, and 1 for 3rd to overdrive. Its quite possible that the valve is sticking in the valve body. This can be a somewhat difficult job to do. But the solonoids arent that expensive. I would suggest a trans fluid flush and a new screen/filter and see if that helps. If you take it to a dealer the solonoid/s replacement will be around $800 or more.

HI.OK THE TRANSMISSION IN YOUR GRAND AM IS EITHER A 3T40 OR A 3T45.THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT SOLONIDS (YES THERE ARE 2, GOOD JOB) ARE LOCATED IN THE UPPER VALVE CONTROL,LOCATED UNDER THE TRANS SIDE COVER . THIS COVER IS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE IF THE TRASMISSION AND IS BEST VIEWED BY REMOVING THE PASSEMGER SIDE TIRE AND PLASTIC MUD GUARD.MY QUESTION TO YOU IS WHY GOING AFTER THE SOLONOIDS.I HAVE DONE MANY OF THESE TRANSMISSIONS AND HARDLY GO BAD.ANY WAY THE TRICK TO GRTTING THE SIDE COVER OFF IS TO LOWER THE PASSENGER SIDE IF THE ENGINE CRADLE DOWN AS LOW AS POSSIBLE.ONCE THE COVER IS REMOVED THE SOLONOIDS ARE RIGHT THERE,THERE IS ALSO A PCS SOLONOID AND A TCC SOLONOID (THEY WILL LOOK DIFFERENT THAN THE 2 IDENTICAL SHIFT SOLONOIDS) THEY WILL BE HELD IN PLACE W/BOBBY PIN TYPE CLIPS.GOOD LUCK SORRY FOR THE CAP LETTERS (IM SUCH A ******) RAY

1st and 2nd shift error on code reader in trans

Shift error codes are enabled not only if the solonoids are faulty, does your scanner show you the solonoids switching? you could have a wiring fault. It could also be the pcm not allowing the solonoids to activate. These complicated systems are very difficult to diagnose for us profesionals with all the scanners and machines we have. Find a transmission shop in your area with a system to drive the vehicle bypassing the computor system, this will determine electrical or internal trans failure. But before you do anything check your conections from the transmission to the pcm. Also all the engine conectors and earth straps.
