Did you connect the antennae properly and get a good contact? Also check the aerial connection on the back window.

Whats making loud radio static in my 2001 Chytsler Concorde after changing dead battery and damaged negative battery clamp?

Check at the dealer parts counter to find out if the original ground or positive cable had a built in capacitor to suppress the noise. Most have this on the firewall and you could go with factory cable if it was built-in or perhaps find the noise suppressor to add on at stereo shop .
I recall some odd battery cables over the years but never had to replace them leading to this issue.

Got new stock stereo for my Honda crv because the CD player jammed up on the old one. Put in new stereo, cd and tape player work fine but radio is just all static. Antenna is plugged in. Ideas?

You might cure this with inline suppressor which you connect somewhere between aerial and input jack.if it makes static noises when engine is not running then it is an aerial issue.either the input is not pushed all the way in or the braid is touching metalwork or the cable is faulty.

Loud speaker static when the car is off. It drained that battery. I tried pulling the radio fuse but it was still making the noise. I had to disconnect the battery to get it to stop. Any ideas?

I GUESS that the speakers are driven by an after market amplifier. An amplifier needs to be connected to a power source that is only on when the radio is on, through a relay.

So I GUESS that:
  1. The wiring is incorrect. Or
  2. If is has a relay, the relay is stuck.

The sound chip may have gone in the stereo, especially if someone has had it on very loud they sometimes blow, otherwise you have 2 speaker wires touching each other, that way you only get static noise, insidee the door they sometimes come free and touch the body

Check all your speaker wires first.

98 plymouth voyager radio wont work. comes in as static. am works fine.

First start with pulling out the radio and make sure the antenna wire is plugged in. The last owner might have had an aftermarket radio in it and when they put the factory one back, forgot a wire. To remove it remove the trim ring (two screws I think) and then the radio screws.

Stereo static

Antenna connector behind the radio must be loose or barely connected to it's socket. Now you're getting all the noise electricity can throw at you. Check it by pulling the radio out with the specific radio tool, and don't forget the radio code, you'll need it when you reinstall it back again for it to operate.
