Question about Plymouth Voyager

Security code blocked

A member of our church has a 1997 Voyager that was given to them by someone that is now deceased because of job lost and they had no transportation. The probem is, the alarm periodically goes off. When this happens, they can't start the car. We talk to the dealerhip and they told them that they needed to bring it to the dealer but they want to charge between $200 - $300, which they don't have. What advice can you provide that could help this family. Thank you just for the opportunity to ask! God bless!

Try locking and unlocking the drivers door with the key. Not the key fob.

SOURCE: honda civic hard start when its hot

you might have leaking valve seats they are expensive to replace, what happens is while your driving they let some oil go past them resulting in oil being dripped into the cylinderwhere the gasoline is supposed to go ..its hard to start because it needs to burn off the oil first.

SOURCE: Saturn Security System - Have Lost all Vehicle Power

Had a Saturn Relay when the battery went bad the security lock activated and could not start the car and the only solution the dealer said was to tow it to them. No wonder saturn is about to be cut by GM. They ran this once good service car company into the ground.

SOURCE: Serpentine diagram for a 1997 Plymouth Voyager

Make a drawing of where the belt and pulleys are before you remove the belt. You won't need a diagram, you will have made your own and be done before you ever find one, unless you have a shop manual already.

go to motorcraft.com, pro center, tech info, owner manual, fuses in index.

I may have an owner manual if interested. It would be $5 plus $1.50 postage.

Please rate highly if this helps.

PS What is the issue?

How to Install 2001 starter voyager

The is a page below that shows with pictures how to do the job. I've changed a few starters myself over the years, and usually the most difficult part of it is getting them physically in and out, as sometimes frame-members and other accessory lines get in the way. Hope this is helpful: http://www.wikihow.com/Replace-a-Dodge-Van-Starter that details the process with pictures

You need to do an OBD2 engine control module fault code test to see if the fault is recorded in the memory of the computer control module. Autozone and others do this testing for free.

There are several sites and forums with dedicated members for different vehicles. I would "google" up a few, become a new member and give as much details as you can on what yo have, what you are trying to do, and what problems you are facing. They may tell you themselves if it is possible, someone may even have the wiring diagram they would share.

I am a member of a few sites and have had someone email me the factory manuals for one of my vehicles. another site I have had people walk me through many proplems such as yours. Remember, try several sites, not just one. The one with the latest post will be a good start.

Previous owner has lost radio code all i get is "wait" any help ?

First make sure that the code has not been noted somewhere within the car (underneath the ash tray, glove box , rear of sun visor etc)

To see if your code is available here for free then the radio will have to be removed from the dashboard (and if you are lucky, someone may have written the code on the casing ) .

If not then POST ANOTHER QUESTION

quoting the radio MAKE+MODEL plus ALL the LETTERS+NUMBERS on ANY LABELS ,BARCODES or STAMPED IN THE METAL CASING

note: Unfortunately not all radios can be decoded using the Serial Number

If not then try your Main Dealer ...........or take it into a Decode Service who will plug in a laptop to read/recode the memory chip (EEPROM). This takes a few minutes and shouldn`t be too expensive
