SOURCE: 2006 suzuki swift immobiliser light flashing and car not starting what can i do to fix it?

You may have a bad key chip, try a diffrent key in the ignition, also make sure you do not have magnet strip mini swipe cards on key chain near the ignition. this sounds like the immoboilizer system is active. this system will not allow the coils to spark.
The key would be the first thing to check. do this by using another key.if car still will not start then the key reader may be bad, this is located around the ignition . the last problem could be the module or a broken wire. The best way to check this would be with a scan tool. there will be codes stored in the anti or body module. the codes will tell you where the failure is and with some testing the problem can be found. the scan tool can help by reading the values and readings. it can tell you if the key chip is read and if the module accepts it. i think if the spare key does not start the car then it will be cheaper to have a shop diagnose the problem. this will help you from just putting parts in. also this anti theft system needs programing when certain parts are replaced.
hope this is helpful, good day

How to check a ignition coil pack to see if its good,

the coil does not crank the engine , the starter does that, sorry.
(if you ever had to hand or foot crank and engine , youd under stand that. (like motor cycles or boat engines, or per 30s cars.)

in fact will crank all day with no spark parts on car..

x2, the scan tool does tell you why there is NO STARTS, CRANKS OK. The pcm can detect, one missfire in 10 cmp;ckp signals.
  • CRANK FOR 5 SECONDS
  • release, key
  • scan tool has DTC errors?, read the believe them.
no engine stated of 4 or more,

U checked everything but spark,
why, check spark at all cylinders, all most fire or the engine will not run or stall.
That test be first, if not starting (AFTER SCAN TEST)

IF NO spark fuses are next , not last.
lets do no start fails tests. (cranks perfectly 200 to 300 rpm)
  1. : check fuses
  2. key on, CEL lamp must glow, if not , ECU fuse blown.
  3. crank with scan tool , see P03xx DTC errors, see RPM dead.?
  4. check for spark? got spark x4 or times number of cylinders?
  5. got spark try test fuel now, runs for 3 seconds?
  6. yes, runs on test fuel now means lost fueling
  7. no, dont run on test fuel, means, 1 to 5 done wrong above or engine compression bad.
  8. bad fueling, huge number of tests. check fuel pressure now.
confused, try a shop and watch them, learn.

My 91 Acura legond moter cranks over but won't start

Engines need 3 things to run-spark, compression and fuel/air. Check the simplest things first. When you turn the key and the warning lights come on, does the check engine light come on? It should turn off in 6 seconds, if everything's ok. I Check the air filter, make sure it isn't plugged up. Take off the oil fill cap, and look in. I believe you can see the rocker/cam, use a flashlight. Have someone crank the engine with the key, see if the cam turns, rocker moves. If not, broken timing belt. Next remove an igniter, put a plug in it, have it plugged in and hold the plug near a ground. Have it cranked, check for spark. If no spark, it needs more professional diagnostics. If yes, Fuel is left. If you sit in the drivers seat, windows up and quiet, turn the key to run, all the warning lights come on. The fuel pump runs for 2 seconds, a low hum from the back. You can usually here it if it is quiet around you. (Just because it makes noise, doesn't mean it's good.) Your car also has a main relay that powers the fuel pump, a common failure. Last thing to try is starting fluid sprayed into the throttle, throttle open 1/2 way, while someone cranks.
One of these should lead you to the failure. Note: the main relay is powered by the ignition system, except for that initial 2 seconds. So if there is no spark, the fuel pump won't work either.

What could cause a1991 suzuki samurai to have no fire from a new coil?

no spark from coil directly?
is the cam turning, is the dizzy rotor spinning. ????

check all fuses first. Ig-coil, FI and dome.
then using diagnostic jumper wire or fuse, (as approp)
crank engine look for code 41 o 42.!!!

USA cars , answers only
our cars are all EFI that year.
no engine swaps to Suzuki G16A/B sidekick or tracker engines.!
1: engine cranks
2: no spark
3: The ECu makes spark
the CMP sensor in the DIzzy , (never fails if rotor turns, does rotor turn, if not cam belt igored and now snapped.)
the cam turns. the CMP fires. the ECU takes this CMP signal
and fires the ignitor next to coil and the coil charges, and release and BAM spark.

that is it.
the ECU will tell you when the CMP dies or the Ignitor fails
why not ask it.
1: key on
2: diagnostic jumper in place (flashes 12s for ok)
3: crank engine,for 5sec, not 1 ,not 2.
3: release key not off.
4: see code 41, or 42, BINGO !@!!!!

No spark from 1 ign coil on suzuki baleno 1.6

wow , no year, but did show G16 engines.
Grand, is a clue. but is not.
wiki facts: so what country is your car, we are USA here,
and we have not one Baleno here.
the Suzuki Baleno throughout Asia, Australasia, and Europe. In India where it was manufactured by Maruti Suzuki, the Cultus Crescent was sold as the Maruti Baleno

Ive not seen Every version of every G16 engine suzuki made
world wide, only OURS.

1995 to 2007
my wild guess, is your ECU is OBD1 ecu, (do you know?)
and as such, there are no scan tools so only the CEL blink codes
work.
No spark 5 places, 4 sparks dead and coil HV tower term dead.
here is the checks. for all early G16
  1. fuses good, IG-coil and "FI"????
  2. key on head lights work, good turn them off.
  3. keyon CEL glows, (not blinks) if dead fuse blown, if flashing Immobilizer is UNHAPPY.
  4. CEL glows you crank, its lost spark and all ecu cut fuel no spark.
  5. So you insert the diagnostic jumper wire. in the the DLC connnecter under hood and CEL flashes 41 or 42 DTC or?
  6. bingo? code 12 is happy code.
  7. crank for 5 full seconds to see the cause code.
here is the OBD1 year, way to get flash codes
USA until 1995
and outside USA up to 2001 or more.

http://www.fixkick.com/CEL/CEL.html#OBD1codes

no year, makes this very hard,
and no country x10 that. (fueling and spark system vary by COUNTRY !

Baleno esteem 1998

1st check all fuse in cab and engine bay , 3 fuses run EFI.
your guessing, got lots of cash, guessing has no upper limits.
why not do the 3 tests, for all cars that dont start.?
first off , before working on any car , know what engine you have.
teh Esteem in USA has 1.6L or 1.8L, and are radically different.
and radical different spark and EFI systems.

ill just name the basics
1: does it crank fast (over 250rpm is spec crank speed)
2: does it have spark at all 4 spark plugs
3: no spark , does it have spark at the coil (ops its hidden in the 1.6L under the dizzy cap. so we need to make a test jumper to do that.
on 1.8 it has 4 coils, called cops.
are all 4 COPS dead, (means Coil Over Plugs)
4: if 1.6L is the timing belt fresh every 60K, oops it snapped or
slipped, compression is 0 or 90psi not 150PSI time 4.
4a: if 1.8, the cam chain can snap over 300k ignored?

ill stop here, as what engine is real important
i treat all DOHC cam engines with kid gloves (or bend valves)
the 1.8L is DOHC (early 2.0L it is)

post country car was sold (be the first in 8000 posts to do that)
post engine, type or displacment,
engine oil filler rear, is 1.6L front is 1.8L)
or open hood, look up and under side of hood, see the USA sticker
see the vacuum map, bingo, the engine type is in plain text.

if engine was 1.8L and you ignored the screaming chain
do post that fact now... kid gloves rules, (pray its still ok and do tests
to assure no further damage by you) ask.

Suzuki wagon r wont start

all fuses good, using ohm meter tests in hand. or better
12v on both ends of fuse key on?
K12a, 16valves, DOHC, chain cam motor.)
well you are on track, no spark, that be real. huh>
the immo (slang for UK immobilizer) for other readers.
so not TDC codes, but that is not all there is, you can attach
a scan tool and see if you have CMP/CKP sigs, and RPM cranking.
crank for 5 seconds to see if these critical to spark parts are in fact working.
single distrib? (the 2 forms of k12a ) a= real japan engine not china.
new cap, new rotor, , no china rotors that mount backwards allowed.?
do you have schematic of your engine EFI?
you really need that, or finding problems can be very hard.
in usa we have 3 major sources here , all on line, to get that fast.
do you? have that in UK? do you have a suz, dealer? with shop man?
we have mitchells, alldata, and chiltons all on line for this.
we also have the for free in public libs here...
diagnosis. (ill assume its flooding) prevents fire and ring damage.
1: i cut the fuel pump by pulling FP relay.
2: then check spark,,if spark is bad to all 4 spark plugs, that's right 4.
then check spark directly at the COIL, some cars have hidden coil.and can be checked, ask.
if spark is bad at coil, HV terminal. then check for Ignitor drive
pulses. if good then coils is bad. (good input, bad output, bad coil)
if the ignitor is dead, check its input, if input bad , ECU is not
sending inputs. this can happen for only few reasons. in no order.
1: bad ecu
2: no cmp or ckp signals.
3: lost power to ECU, fuses,
IF car has dash tachometer, is it dead, cranking , no 300 rpm cranking?
scan too.
RPM dead. cranking.
no CMP /CKP errors cranking from ECU DTC, ERRORS ON SAME.?
That is how i do this, and never fail.
better is:
1: compression good?
2: spark good and timed
3: good fueling?
you fail #2 (lets work that)

Does a 2000 land rover freelander 1.8 xei have a camshaft position sensor or a crank angle sensor

Cam senso and crank sensor are at front of engine behind the grillto the right of centre looking at front of vehicle. this model has an inertia switch whichcuts fuel supply if you have had a decent bump recently. It is located on pass side strut tower. have you checked the immobiliser system? it has a deadlock or super immobiliser system. manual should tell you about this. wont hurt to check all fuses under bonnet and in passanger compartment. If all above are OK then you can check voltage at coilpak. orange wire is the voltage supply and the black with white trace is the pulse. good luck
