Question about Suzuki Swift
I own a Maruti Swift Petrol 2008 model. Recently on two occasions I noticed that with my foot off the accelerator pedal and clutch fully depressed, the R.P.M. was shooting up to 3000, when it should be idling. It happened a few times and then did not recur.
Non USA car.
india car? we dont know till you say.. a www thing.
what engine size.
ok, if car has fly by wire. (aka, throttle by wire,) its a bit dangerous
if car was a toyota you could sue them.
why you experience, is:
if cable throttle its stuck .
if TBW (wire controlled) its sick. no cable on throttle pedal is the clue.
on american cars, we have OBD2, and we see the CEL lamp glow.
we then attach a $9 scan tool and see the DTCs stored.
2008 should have OBD2, but no all cars, some in China started in 2010..
Check all fuses on car, 2 fuse boxes
then check the Check engine light. is it on running?
do not drive a car like that, its dangerous.
in Toyata the owner had illegal size and type floor mats that jammed up the throttle pedal.
the key factor here is cable or TBW car. to work this car, that must be known. (cept mats)

SOURCE: 2005 Equinox Brake Problems
My 03 trailblazer does the same thing and the service dept. told me that it was normal for this model to do that, it has never failed to stop but if your sitting at a red light you can feel the peddle go down to almost the floor but it stops fine and it has done this since day 1 and they say thats normal on the trailblazer.

fill your clutch fluid, it tells you what kind of brake fluid to use on the cap, and then bleed your clutch system as you would your brakes, the bleeder is located on the slave cylinder i believe

Sounds like the SLave Cylinder has givin up Possible the Reli=eice Bearing I ALWAYS Replace As A PAIR . If you can put in gear by having someone rock the car front to back and it holds well its pretty Obvious that you DO have A Clutch Master Cylinder or Clutch Slave aat Releice Bearing Problem AGAIN These Parts I REPLACE AS A PAIR. Before ANything Chech Fluid Level that will tell the store IF FULL Most Probably MASTER-- If EMPTY then See where it went Look At SLAVE if wet thats the Culpret. --->> I Hope this INFO helps you and have a good Day >> Please dont forget to RATE me ok ? Check and clean Idle air control valve. Make sure its responding to signal as well. Also make sure ther are no vacuum hoses disconnected. This may not be a "cure" but it's a good place to start.

You need to check the cable the runs from the gas pedal to the engine, it might be rusty and need some drops of penetrating oil at the point it meets with the engine accelerator valve.
