Question about 1999 Toyota Corolla

1 Answer

The electric windows in my 1999 Toyota Camry will go down, but struggle to go up and will stop altogether after about 2-6 inches of lift. I can push them up with my hand while holding the power switch in the up postion. I assume it is a motor problem, but find it odd that all the windows (but one) started acting this way about the same time. my problem is that all my windows except my driver's side will roll up fine. the driver side is the only on that will not come up, i have to push it up. I replaced the motor and the switch to the window but it is still not working

I would try to lubtcate the rubber tracks that the window slides up and down in. Sometimes, dirt gets into the tracks, and the dirt acts like brakes. Get some 100% SILICONE SPRAY, and spray the rubber slides real good. See if that helps.

Drivers rear electric window

Unplug the wires then unscrew the bolts which secure the window to the winder push the window into place and put something underneath it to keep it up be sure to unplug it as if the button for moving the window up and down starts working again it will either damage itself or move whatever you put to secure the window

Power window toyota camry

Fuse box is by drivers left knee. Above this are the flashers and about 3 inches above this is the circuit breaker for the windows and door locks. breaker is silver, about 1/2 by 5/8 inch and in the center is the button you need to push in to reset. I used an unbent paper clip to press it. Make sure unit is not energized. May need to unplug breaker first. Press in center button until it clicks.

You need to replace the window regulator assembly.
The cables that run the glass up and down have broken inside the regulator.

Hope this helps. A FixYa rating would be greatly apprecited.
