If it is stalling out then it is likely a fault code, take it to any Autozone or O'reilly auto parts store and have them read the fault codes, it is free.

I just had the same problem, new cap, deleted the codes with a obd... took it to the dealership...
its the EGR valve that was bad on my truck 2007 dodge ram 45000 miles...
i get it back on friday, its a simple part 1 wire harness and 2 bolts and gasket.
