Brake Problems, 2007 Aspen 4-whel disc ABS

Yesterday, the front passenger disc brake locked up while driving. I had the car towed, and when the car arrived at my house I cranked it up and the brake was no longer locked. Just as a precautionary measure I took off the wheel and tire and checked the the caliber and pads. Everything looked good, however, I noticed that the brake pedal now goes to the floor and I have very little braking power. I took the wheel and tire back off and can now see that when the brake is applied the caliber is not moving. At this point I decided to bleed the brakes. To my surprise, when I started to bleed the brake I was unable to get any fluid out of the line. I checked the master cylinder and it has plenty of fluid. Also, I hooked up a vaccum to try and drawn fluid through the line but that was unsuccessful as well. Any suggestions?

What you need to do is change the rubber brake line that goes from the caliper to the metal line. the problem is that the rubber line has collapsed.change that and bleed the brakes and you should be good to go

SOURCE: Front disc brake locked up. 2007 Chrysler Aspen 4-wheel ABS

Could be a bad brake hose. take off hose and see if you can blow thru it, very common problem. But first take bleeder out all of the way to see if it is clogged.

Abslight stays on. How to fix? This is a2007trailblazer?

First you need to have EBCM - electronic brake control module check for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code's . If the light is on there is a code stored . I think most part stores can do this and for free . After you find out what code is stored , looking up that code in service repair information for diagnostic trouble shooting chart would be next step . There are a few codes too.
DTC C0035 or C0040
DTC C0045 or C0050
DTC C0110
DTC C0131
DTC C0161
DTC C0186
DTC C0196
DTC C0201
DTC C0240
DTC C0241 or P0856
DTC C0244 or P1689
DTC C0245
DTC C0283
DTC C0287
DTC C0290 or C0292
DTC C0455
DTC C0550
DTC C0558

Find the code do the diagnostic's , fix the problem , wiring issue's , a sensor , bad module ,what ever it is . The light will go out then . Here is a sample of code discription .
• DTC C0035 Left Front Wheel Speed Sensor Circuit
• DTC C0040 Right Front Wheel Speed Sensor Circuit

Front brakes locking up after driving once it cools off will unlock

Have you checked GM, as well as repair shop data base
Bulletins for those brake issues?

Have you checked with professional scan tool in the
abs module for codes?

Who is replacing those parts & why?

Would seem more like an axle tone ring, wheel hub
tone wheel inside bearing hub,abs module needing to be reflashed
with an update or wheel speed sensors.

Power train malfunction & ABS light on. Lot of grinding when put into drive or sometimes front end will lock up. I did replace the front hub bearings but still having the same problem, anyone kno

Can be any number of things, I will make a list of things to check. First jack up the front so the wheels are free to turn and fit safety stands. with the transmission out of gear turn each wheel by hand the should be free to turn . check for grinding noise, check the brake pads are not worn out . check the brake cylinders are not binding, check the drive shaft joints, check the brake discs, if there is air in the system you may have to take to a brake repair shop as ABS brakes are hard to bleed by hand..

On my 4 x 4, the passenger break lights don't work but the bulbs are good. What do I look for?

When you lock and unlock the doors, this is usually the side light which illuminates, not the brake light.
Remove the brake light bulb, (which also contains the side light filament) and check the filament. It's likely blown, so simply replace it.

Master cylinder and/or brake booster could be the problem. A tiny bit of air in the system will effect your braking abilty. A fault in the ABS system would prompt the computer to trigger the ABS light. If you have brake shoes on the rear, make sure they are properly adjusted. Hope this helps.

Passenger side front brakes locking up

There are a number of problems that can cause that. It could be a bad caliper which is either hanging up or not returning correctly. It could be a bad proportioning valve or ABS motor. It doesn't have to be the passenger caliper that is bad. If the driver side isn't moving then all the brake pressure will go into the passenger side. Check your pads for excessive wear also. Metal on metal contact will cause that or a heat cracked pad could be causing uneven pressure. Check your rotors for glazing as well. If the pads don't grab until high pressure is applied then the brake could lock up. Pads rotors and calipers should cost less than two hundred dollars and if you replace all of them then you shouldn't have to worry about them for another twenty thousand miles or so. Take out the ABS fuse and drive it first and see if it does the same thing. If it does, then it's not the ABS motor. To me, it sounds like a caliper hanging up. Good luck.

2003 suzuki aerio passenger front brake keeps locking up. i have replaced the pads, disc and the caliper,??????? drive about 5 mins and they get tight, then when used they lock up, right front only this is...

this problem is only caused by one thing on this late model car, that is a leaking hydraulic control valve in the ABS unit, this allows brake pressure to be applied to the caliper pistons without any input from the driver.
