SOURCE: ac/heater fan switch problem on a 2006 jeep commander

next to the fan motor there should be a connector that has three or four wires that attached to the blower resistor. it should have two screws holding it to heater case, just pull it out and replace.

Testimonial: "This info was very helpful but need a little more info of where the fan motor is located. I will post another question to find that info."

SOURCE: install a altenator for a 2006 jeep commander

I would rate this a 5 in difficulty. If you have a metric socket set, basic hand tools and a supertine belt tool it's fairly easy repair. You can rent a surpentine belt tool at Autozone.

Disconnect the battery
remove the cowling
remove the supertine belt from the altenator pully
disconnect the red wire on the back of the altenator
disconnect the harness plug from the altenator
remove the bolts holding the altenator to the mounting brackets.
Reverse the process with the new altenator and it it's done.
Make sure your battery is charged before you start the engine a low battery can cause damage to your new altenator.

Does a 2006 jeep commander have a cabin air filter?

Yes, some 2006 Jeep Commander models do have a cabin air filter. However, it depends on the specific trim level and options installed.
To check if your 2006 Jeep Commander has a cabin air filter, you can consult the owner's manual or contact a Jeep dealership or mechanic. If your vehicle does have a cabin air filter, it is typically located behind the glove compartment and can be replaced easily.

How do I remove starter on a 2006 4.7 cylander jeep commander

Disconnect battery.
Unbolt starter, move it down a bit.
Now unbolt wires (two of them).
Now wiggle starter around and get it out. On 99-04 grand cherokee the front wheels need to be on ground (or on a ramp) or the drooping suspension gets in the way.

When i try to start my 2006 Jeep Commander all I hear is a clicking noise.

May be the starter solenoid, or a weak battery. Especially in cold weather, a weak battery will not have enough amps to kick in the solenoid on the starter, but may start after a few tries. Also may be as simple as a loose or corroded battery connection. Get the battery checked first, as this will not get better, only worse with time. If the battery and connections check out, then have the starter solenoid checked.

Jeep commander clicks once and won't start. It is

The starting issue is the same I had on my 2005 Grand Cherokee. The wire coming from the ignition (key area) to the Starter the connection is bad. The shop replaced the lead and it is perfectly fine... it cost $70. I dont know the techincal terms.. but it was easy to fix- the problem is water and junk gets splashed up by the front tire and corroded the wire into the sarter.... that's all it was.
Good luck.

Cranks but does not start , wiggled the auto gear shift when it happened before and it started but this time no luck, 2006 jeep commander

you starter is probably gone - you can take a long thin object and try to tap the starter as you crank the car - if this works, must replace the starter
