The Key FOB is stuck in the ignition. How can I get it to eject?

Most if not all vehicles have a Electronic Park Lock (EPL)/Ignition Lock Cylinder Control Actuator: If the vehicle is equipped with automatic transmission and a floor mounted console gear shift, it has an ignition lock cylinder control actuator system in the steering column. The ignition lock cylinder control actuator purpose is to prevent the ignition key from being turned to the OFF position when the transmission is in any position other than PARK and the vehicle may still be moving. The column ignition lock system consists of an ignition lock cylinder control actuator, and a park position switch that is located in the automatic transmission shift lock control switch. The ignition lock cylinder control actuator contains a pin that is spring loaded to mechanically prevent the ignition key cylinder from being turned to the lock position when the vehicle transmission is not in the PARK position. If vehicle power is lost, and/or the transmission is not in the PARK position the operator will not be able to turn the ignition key to the lock position and will not be able to remove the ignition key from the column. Or it has
Linear Shift Assembly: If the vehicle is equipped with a column mounted gear shift, it has a linear shift assembly on the steering column. The linear shift assembly has a cable that runs from the linear shift assembly to the ignition lock cylinder case. The purpose of this cable is to prevent the ignition key from being turned to the OFF position when the transmission is in gear and the vehicle may still be moving. The linear shift assembly cable contains a pin that is spring loaded to mechanically prevent the ignition key cylinder from being turned to the lock position when the vehicle transmission is not in the PARK position. If vehicle power is lost, and/or the transmission is not in the PARK position the operator will not be able to turn the ignition key to the lock position and will not be able to remove the ignition key from the column.
Your best bet is to take it to a ASE certified repair shop or the dealer ! The fix involves taking the steering column apart an or the floor shifter assembly ! Also electrical test to determine what is the problem !

How can I hot wire my ford Taurus? I lost my key

Problem with hot wiring the ignition is that the vehicle will start and run but with out turning the ignition the steering wheel will be locked > I suggest a new ignition switch , you can always hammer a flat head screw driver in the ignition were the key goes and turn the ignition. Either way you will need a new ignition switch .

Duplication of keys may
be performed at an authorized dealer (or locksmiths) or by using the
Customer Key Programming procedure.

DIY, takes 1 key , good, called a valid key, in the below text.
You can program new keys to the system if you have two
valid keys by doing the following:
1. Cut the additional Sentry Key Transponder blank(s) to
match the ignition switch lock cylinder key code.
2. Insert the first valid key into the ignition switch and
turn the ignition switch ON for at least 3 seconds but no
longer than 15 seconds. Turn the ignition switch OFF and
remove the first key.
3. Insert the second valid key and turn the ignition
switch ON within 15 seconds. After ten seconds, a chime
will sound and the SKIS indicator light will begin to
flash. Turn the ignition switch OFF and remove the
second key.
4. Insert a blank Sentry Key into the ignition switch and
turn the ignition switch ON within 60 seconds. After 10
seconds, a single chime will sound. The SKIS indicator
light will stop flashing, turn on for 3 seconds; then turn
off.
The new Sentry Key has been programmed. Repeat this
process to program up to a total of 8 keys.

Hello! I have a 1997 Maxima that has no power to the dash, radio, starter, windows, or basically anything related to the key being in and turned! The interior lights and headlamps work, but they do not...

Sounds like ignition switch problem. But check if you have a maxi fuse or a fuse link that sends power to the switch. There is no relay between whichever one of those sends power to the switch, and the switch itself, it is a straight hot wire- hot at all times. You may have lost power to the switch.

Turn the key and nothing

Check battery cable connections. There should be a hot wire (hot at all times) to the ignition switch, and when key is turned the switch sends power out. Either the switch has lost the power in, or the switch is bad, not sending power out.
Do the headlights work? When key is turned to on, do the warning lights and gauges come on in the dash? Does the radio or any accessories work when key is turned? If nothing works, you need to check if the ignition switch is getting power from the battery.
