Testimonial: "son in laws vehicle...... oil apparently runs out around pan gasket area. He was saying he thought getting to pan for removal he had to disconnect parts that where connect to his wheels, which would cause them to move .....anyway I just thought it sounded weird."

HOW TO REMOVE OIL PAN

There are several steps to removing the oil pan, especially if your 1500 is a 4 wheel drive. It's a pretty involved procedure. You are way better off buying a repair manual, such as the Haynes manual for your vehicle.

Need to remove oil pan on 1987 chevy s10 2.8l 4x4 four speed

in order to get the oil pan off of a 4 w/d model the front axle assy must be removed first then oil pan removal is straight forward after that. cv axles can be left in just need to take out the 6 bolts on each one drain oil out remove the cable engagement on the bottom wire plug and 4 mounting bolts. rotate assy to remove it. the other way is to remove the engine. take your pick.

I need to remove the oil pan of my 2003 chevy express 1500 i have removed all of the bolts but it is not coming out

Make sure you have all bolts out. Then gently pry around the edges with as wide a bladed flat screwdriver as you can find. Is this a steel pan, or a cast aluminum pan?

In any case do not apply very much force in one area, or you risk warping/breaking something.

Not sure i am locating the oil drain plug or the auto trans drain plug on my 2006 chevy silverado 1500. i am almost certain it is the oil drain plug but want to make absolute certain before i drain it....

Transmissions are drained by removing the pan itself. A new filter is to be installed upon draining. That is why there is no drain pan plug. The Chevy Powerglides were the last American made car with a drain plug in the 1965

Changed oil pan gasket now i dont have much oil pressure

If oil pressure was fine before you changed the gasket, it's likely that some debris was loosened up (probably under the pan baffle) and got onto the oil pump pickup, restricting flow. The only other cause of low pressure would be worn engine bearings, which would not happen just by changing oil pan, unless you messed with either bearings or pump while pan was down. Remove the pan and carefully inspect the pump pickup for debris!!! DO NOT DRIVE VEHICLE 'TILL YOU HAVE CORRECTED THIS OR YOU WILL DAMAGE BEARINGS!!!
