You need a ground wire also..add a ground and it should work.. trailer wiring is like this..white/ground..brown/tail..yellow/brake..and two greens a lighter one for left signal and a darker one for right.. find each one seperately on the jeep because these colors wont match it..and hook them up independently before taping the whole thing up..be checking and adding heavier fuses like 25 or 30 amp due to the extra wire load..

SOURCE: no brake/hazard lights,have running/turn signal lights

Suggest you change hazard flasher 'can' first, then go to the hazard switch. I'm betting it's the flasher can.

SOURCE: 99 Chevy Tahoe... Rear turn signals, brake lights, and hazards

I had this problem, and to be honest, it happened to the left side about a week later...it's the board that the bulbs plug into...it's a very common problem with this model. So popular that you can normally get the socket board off the shelf at a parts store! it's extremely simple to replace, and I replaced all the bulbs at the same time!

Why does my turn signal/ hazard light fuse keep blowing out

you have a short in one of the light sockets or a worn wire from the wiring harness. could be the flasher assembly. are the turn signals different bulbs from the brake lights? Does using the brakes blow the fuse? (Rear lights or brake light switch on brake pedal). left or right turn signal blowing the fuse will tell which side has the short. 4 ways only, replace the relay.

92 Jeep Cherokee trailer running lights wont work

there are 2 systems. you mixed them, (bad_)
that takes a special adapter.
if in USA, ask the Uhaul shop for where to get the correct adapter.

your trailer is wired, old fashion, with separated wire to each function.
the car is not. (wired like 60 chevy)

option 2, is go to jeep and get the trailer kit. bingo.

option 3.?

I was wiring a trailer pigtail to an 06 wrangler and blew the turn signal bulbs but the fuses are good. I have running and reverse lights but no brake lights or turn signals

If the bulbs and the fuses are good, check the brake light switch. You might of shorted out the switch when working on the pig tail. Always use a test light or volt meter when installing pig tails. This way you can check for power and ground before hooking a wire up to help prevent shorts. But by what you have said it does sound as if the brake light switch is now bad.

you will need to add an trailer light adaptor for this vehicle. this adaptor will combine the brake and signals from two separate sources. this unit can be purchased at walmart, Canadian Tire, Partsource, autozone. trailer shops. it will fix your issue. or purchase the vehicl specific kit for your Jeep.

Did you use a wiring adapter? this plugs into the stock system to properly power the trailer lights. the other thing is you could have a short to ground in the trailer wiring, especially where it comes out under the jeep.
