SOURCE: WON'T STAY TURNED OVER

have you checked for a fuel cut off switch? I was rearended last year and had the same issue right afterward and it was b/c the fuel cut off switch had kicked in and I had to 'unclick' it - it was located in the trunk of my crown vic - not sure where it may be in the Winstar - in the back somewhere.

SOURCE: oil light, noisy engine

What type of noise does it make. check if it has "blowby" . Blowby is when there is air coming through to the fuel system. It means that the rings , bearings , and other critical components are bad.The engine needs a complete overhaul or a new engine block. Maybe even the heads. if's it's a ticking, clicking kind of noise it is the valve lifters or rocker arm problem.such as the valves.

I unhook my battery and hooked it back up and the engine light stayed on

if you had it unhooked longer than 10 minutes, then there is a reason that light is on and that needs to be fixed.
most lights will clear on their own after 10 or so drive cycles.

Car battery keeps dying

Myguess is that you have an electrical short which is causing a drain on the battery. The way to check this is to get a 12 v test light. Unhook the negative side of the battery. Hook the test light up between the negative battery post and the battery cable. If the light comes on, You have a short/drain. To find where the short is, you leave the test light hooked up. Then you start pulling fuses until the light goes out. However, your car stereo needs to be completely unhooked before you do this test because most stereos have a constant electrical source so that the clock stays accurate and the memory stays active so your programed stations don't get lost. have you unhooked the negative battery cable after the repair was completed? this will erase all codes in your system. unhook it for about 10 minutes then hook it back up. your engine light should stay off if not then you have another problem.

98 tahoe wont hold charge

Sounds like you have a bare wire somewhere that is touching metal and grounding out. Probably a starter cable. Try unhooking the battery, check the voltage of the battery, then hook the cable back up, watching for sparks from the cable. After you get it hooked back up, check the voltage again. If you see a small spark, it is normal. If you see a big spark, you have a wire that is touching something it is not supposed to.

Just fixed the valve covers and now the car wont stay crunk up

battery is probably low.when trying cranking for a period of time battery get weak thats why battery light on.charge battery.to see if it hold a charge.when battery fully charged it should be 12.5 volts.with engine running alternator out put should be 13.5 to 14.5.if not replace the alternator.or have it tested.when replacing valve covers make sure your pvc valve.in valve cover in place if not your car will stall out and idle rough.your oil leak on inside of your car from a leaking oil line to oil pressure gauge.thats why your oil light is on.
