SOURCE: i got the code p1361

heres adiagram to check resistance of the sensor, it should be1200-1300 ohms, but take note the sensor could read good at this time this problem is intermitent and the sensor may be bad, check for continuty at the computer connector , if all wires are good then i would replace the crankshaft sensor/top dead sensor (CKP/TDC).next check conntinuty between sensor terminals and ground check all four prongs on sensor if theres continuity on any one replace sensor, next key off and sensor connected . remove the pcm 31 pin connector (C) here a diagram of it. at the pcm connector measure resistance between terminals C2 and C12 it should be 1200-3200 ohms, then check between C3 and C13, again 1200-3200ohms if the ohms are off then check wires that fail omh test.next test is with connector again test connector c2 (blue /white wire) to ground and C3 to ground if continuity exists then repair wire that fails between connector and sensor, if all tests are good then try a good pcm. i dont think its pcm, i think if its not a wire then replace sensor , but good luck and i hope this helps.johnjohn2_18.gifjohnjohn2_19.gif

06 Volkswagen beetle 2.5 code p0322 replaced crank sensor ran fine for about 20 miles same code again starts when cold when warms up no start

code p 322 refers to crank (CKP) sensor / engine speed (RPM) sensor ---no signal===causes ---wiring--CKP sensor---RPM sensor --ECM
as you state that it ran for a distance , that would indicate initially that the sensors are good but the ECM (engine control module) may be suffering over heating component failure
have the ECM tested

Can dirt, black, thick oil cause a p0340 and p0320 code

code p 0340 refers tocamshaft position(CMP) sensor A bank 1-circuit malfunction===causes --wiring---CMP--ECM
code p 0320 refers tocrankshaft position (CKP) ) sensor/engine speed (RPM sensor---circuit malfunction===causes -- wiring---CKP/RPM sensor---ECM AS you do mot mention a make and model or type of equipment
This has to be considere
The crank and cam sensors generally work by a magnet close to a rotor ring and have a preset distance to be maintained
so any dirt or contamination that alters that distance will affect the sensor response
Generally if the sensors are contained ( cam sensor , rpm sensor and some crank sensors) then the 2 items affecting their performance is the clearance setting and the wiring and are more closely related to sensor internal wiring failure or broken wires exterbally or problem connections and insulation

What are error codes P0372, and P0335

Hi, these codes relate to the crankshaft position sensor. Recommend you check the sensor to make sure it is tight and the connector is fully on. If it looks in order, consider replacing the sensor. If you reply with your model and year, I will see if I can provide additional information.

P0335 Crankshaft position (CKP) sensor - circuit malfunction
Possible causes: Wiring, CKP sensor, ECM

P0372 Timing reference, high resolution signal A - too few pulses
Possible causes: Wiring, CKP/RPM/CMP sensor, ECM

I've been getting an ignition sensor failure/faulty connection diagnostic error (P0320) on my 2004 Hyundai Sonata v4 ever since I replaced the ignition coils, plugs and plug wires a few weeks ago. Also,...

code p 0320 refers to crankshaft position sensor (CKP)/ engine speed (RPM) sensor --circuit malfunction===causes wiring---CKP/RPM sensor--ECM
from your statement of moving coil wires and it temporarily fixed the fault , I suspect wiring failure to the tacho( RPM sensor) as the RPM sensor works of coil impulses
by moving wires you may be altering the circuit fault for the CKP sensor
take it to an accredited service center for a proper diagnosis
