Could be many things, least of all a fuse... have you had a tune up ever? new spark plugs and spark plug wires? distributer cap and rotor? if not, start by looking at these items. i would also check the air filter while the hood is up. if you see a lot of dirt or oil in there, replace it, those are cheap. is the check engine light on? if so, call around and find an auto parts store in your area that will pull the engine code for free. many stores will do this and then sell you the part you need to fix it. if none of this helps, get some more information posted so someone can try to help you.

Check the throttle position sensor.
Then, possibly the air filter.
Finally.. try checking the plugs.
(it almost sounds like she's flooding out.)

I have a 97 Dodge neon that sounds like it's running on 2 cylinders. I've changed the plugs, wires, coilpack, and fuel filter and still no change. I also took the #1 plug wire and the car doesn't die

What you describe here leads me to believe blown head gasket. Check radiator coolant level, then do a compression test on all four cylinders. You should have 115-150 compression in each cylinder. If your reading is down to about 25-75 on two of your cylinders. you will have your answer. If the car is still worth keeping change the head gasket and get another two years of driving.GOOD LUCK FRIEND.

My fuel pump fuse keeps blowing on my 97 neon. i replaced fuel pump. no help.

What is no help ?

Surely you know what a fuse is for !

Replacing a blown fuse won't fix a thing

Have to diagnose the fuel system electrical,
to find a problem

Replaced the fuel pump why?
Was it tested & failed ?
No Fuel Pressure?

Fuel filter

The fuel filter for 93 to 99 dodge neon is inside the gas tank. it is part of the fuel pump. to replace it you have to replace the whole thing. the part is beween $280 and $340 depending whether you have a metal or plastic fuel tank. i had this same thing a week ago with my 97 neon.

1995 dodge neon dies after 2 miles

if the car sputters or anything before it dies then u might have a fuel problem. u could try changing ur fuel filter. Or simply give the car a tune up. New spark plugs and wires.

My Neon keeps stalling

Try the simple stuff first and ask yourself these questions:

How old are the spark plugs? (I think this is 90% gaurenteed the problem)

Is the car getting enough air through the filter?
Is the filter dirty? (replace if so)
If not you might need your idle advanced a little.

I have a 96' Dodge Neon, and my car wont start

Try looking to see if your injectors are clogged or if fuel is getting to the fuel rail. You can take the hose that is on the fuel rail off then try starting it or just pump the gas pedal and you should see gas coming out. I had a similar problem with my 97 neon and this was my problem just try and see, you never know.
