It is on the end of your cylinder head. Is has a small wire harness plugged into it.

It CAN have an affect on the operation of the fuel system only due to the fact that the sensor is saying to the computer that it is in the wrong position and that it should not be running. Crankshaft position sensor will also cause the vehicle not to run due to not sensing correct crankshaft position.

What size of motor and what is the car doing?

True statment by speeddemon....but corect about the crankshaft...it is all computer sensing stuff that prevents the firing of the fuel.

No this actually has nothing to do with your fuel pump and it is located at the front of the engine up towards the top should have 2 wires from it. it controls the firing of the spark plugs

I have a 1995 chrysler cirrus when im at the light the car starts jerking and sometime it shuts off.

IT WOULD BE NICE IF YOU TOLD US THE ENGINE SIZE;STRAIGHT OR AUTO TRANS,AC ETC.
The 3.9 LT V6 engines back then had bad lower distributor/camshaft bushing. IF your car missfires-is hard to start-or tries to run backwards upon shutdown it may be this.
Engine will have to be put on analyzer(to show vaariable timing caused by bushing)=easy to Dx and may be covered by warranty .

Got a 2003 ford tauras ..would the crank sensor keep the transmisson from engaging

no the crank sensor has nothing to do with your transmission. and all the crank sensor does is control spark up to around 4 or 5 hundred rpms (while your trying to start the car) after your car starts the crank sensor does nothing. the ecm takes over ignition controls once the engine is running. if you took it to a parts store to get it scanned beware the typical know it alls at the parts stores, most of them will do no more than get you to throw parts at your car rather than actually diagnose it. leave diagnosing to a professional mechanic. parts store guys are not trained mechanics. on the transmission issue what do you mean it will not engage? does it go into gear but not drive? is the gearshift stuck? does it go into gear but then stall the motor?

My 2004 nissan maima fails to start on the first try. doesnt happen every time, but frequency is increasing. Been told it is probably a fuel line issue bu a backyard mechanic. Any ideas??

do you have a check engine light on?? If so, have the vehicle scanned at autozone for the error code. If it isn't on, this may be caused by faulty crankshaft or camshaft position sensor. Cam sensor controls firing and crank sensor controls fuel. This issue needs to be physically diagnosed!!

95 Eagle Talon stalls out after driving for a while. Has new ignition coil, plugs and wires, computer and fuel pump but I've been told it has something to do with the fuel line, any help?

I have the same year and stalls out occasionally in the beginning and now I can barely drive a quarter mile. All of the parts you listed I've tested and appear ok but what I'm thinking is not fuel because it would act crazy gasping for fuel but the camshaft and crankshaft sensors. If either of these are failing then the engine stops firing and dies. Also could be the alternator or battery. If not enough charge then the car could die. Mine dies like I turned the key off (and don't think it's ignition switch) and gauges all just drop to zero still sounds like engine is sort of on until I finally coast close to stopping and then dies and oil light comes on.

What is a cam crank sensor on 2004 Audi A4

The "cam crank" sensor is the "reader" for position and speed of the camshaft. This sensor send informations to Engine Control Unit about camshaft position and speed. If the sensor is faulty engine stops!

The crank sensor is near the harmonic balancer or the lowest pulley on the motor. Should be fairly easy to change. Camshaft sensor should be at the rear of the engine on top. Also relatively easy to change.
