Don't forget the oil pressure switch, it has a double switch, one to close and turn on the fuel pump, the other to open and turn off the oil light, this is usually bypassed during starting but might not be in this system. The fuel section will open if oil pressure is not maintained or attained within what ever parameters the manufacture sets.

Have you tried putting a small amount of fuel directly in the throttle body? This is very dangerous so when I say small amount I mean only an ounce or two and then get the container away from there BEFORE you try to start the engine. You only have a minute or so so just set the container down on the ground and then try it. If the engine "hits" or even runs for a few seconds, you have an answer, you aren't getting any fuel to the engine. Don't forget fuses, they can be anywhere and sometimes look good when actually are bad and the fuse link ones can't be looked at to tell, they have to be measured with an ohm meter or simple tell-tale-light tester, (sometimes you can GENTLY pull on them and if they stretch they are bad because the wire inside is "broken".

I could be off base in my suggestion as there could be another switch/relay that is causing this problem but believe you are in the right circuit (fuel control), be careful and don't buy more parts than you actually have to have as they don't usually take them back once installed.

If you don't have a Volt/Ohm meter or know how to use one, now is a good time to get one and read the book on how to use it. A $10 cheapy one either analog (has a dial with a sweep arm) or digital, is more than adaquate to troubleshoot simple DC circuits and can also be used for other things.

    Good luck. Wayne

SOURCE: 94 jeep wrangler overheating

Have the cooling system pressure tested. If it holds pressure, that's a good thing. If it doesn't hold pressure, you may have a leaking head gasket. What may be happening is the crack in the head gasket could be blowing hot air into the cooling system causing it to overheat.

SOURCE: 94 Jeep Wrangler Seat Belt Installation

your jeep should have all the holes and thread nuts already installed. pull up the carpet and locate them. the two close to the center are for seat belts as are the two outside of them. the four holes that form a large square/rectangular area are for the seat. if your seat is fold and tumble type, holes on the left wheel well are for the locking mechanism. i just pulled mine out and filled the thread holes with new bolts to keep out the water and dirt. yours may have screws or plugs in them. this install is for factory type only. mike

94 jeep wrangler runs 45 seconds then shuts down

You will have to figure out what is quitting when the engine stops.
If you are loosing fuel to the injectors, it could be a pump relay, or something with the injectors.
If you can spray carb cleaner into the throttle body and keep it running, look for a fuel problem.

Ran out of gas now wont start what is auto shut down relay (fuel)

The Automatic Shut Down relay is in the power disatribution center by the battery. It provides power to the ignition coil and the fuel injectors when it is turned on by the computer.Turn key to on and check for apower to the coil on the dark greeen wire. If you have power there, the relay is working. Don't believe it affects the pump on your jeep, but maybe. Do you hear the pump come on for 2 seconds when key is turned to on? It should come on to prime the fuel system, and then shut off. May have to be close to tank when someone turns key to on.

Auto shut down relay chatters -no power to fuel pump. Replaced relay -still have same problem on 1993 Wrangler

If the check engine light does NOT come on when cranking, at the times when it won't start, and the relays are clicking and buzzing, then your ECU is in need of repair. The engine will only start after the check engine light comes on and the ecu is what controls that. ECU is likely going bad, causing the delayed start problem typical of early 90's jeeps. Reasonably priced repair or replacement services for your jeep ECU are available on ebay.

2001 jeep Cherokee sport runs for a while and stops for 24 hours starting again like nothing hapenned

Hello
The engine and automatic transmission in this vehicles drive train are fully electronically controlled by a computer called the PCM and TCM (Power Train Control Module, Transmission Control Module). When a problem like this or other drive-ability related problems occurs the computer stores a record of the problem (there are of course some exceptions to this, like the fuel pump, engine coolant temperature sensor and MAF sensor for instance) in the form of a fault code in its memory, to read these fault codes you must have the systems memory scanned with a special tool. Once the fault code(s) are read you then must perform the appropriate diagnostic testing to find and resolve the problem(s) DO NOT REPLACE ANY PARTS UNTIL A TRAINED TECHNICAIN HAS DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM TO AVOID SPENDING YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON PARTS THAT MAY NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM

What does the auto shut off fuse do? 92 Jeep Wrangler is having start up problems.

The auto shutdown relay in your vehicle is controlled by the computer. If the computer does not see a signal from the crank or cam sensor, it will turn off power to the relay which in turn shuts off power to the fuel and ignition system. Unlike those in many passenger vehicles, it's not connected to an impact sensor. (as jeeps are off road vehicles as well as being transportation, if they had an impact sensor, they would be prone to shutdown when traveling over rough off road terrain)
The fuses to the relay are affected by shorting or overload of any components they serve, or by a problem with the relay itself.

Please refer to this solution: http://www.fixya.com/cars/t1016149-1989_jeep_cherokee

It's probably the A/C relay under the hood indeed. And your battery might have gone bad too.
