I tried the solution given by Bill Boyd i put in a new bearing but it is still doing the same

I take it that the throw out beraring was ok then . Ok so now the problem becomes interesting. Idles good-- depress the clutc and the engine stops --- items involved ---thro out lever pushes on the bearing which pushes on the pressure plate fingers which push the crank shaft forward and loads up the thrust washes in the main bearing---nothing sinster there or ther would be a lot of noise in the engine. So back to the clutch action---hydraulic works a switch to allow the engine to start(Safety feature foot on clutch to start engine)---may be a faulty switch if fitted--- last thing to check is engine RPM at idle It should be at 750 rpm hot and if it is less the say 450 the pressure from the clutch on the thrust bearing along with the alternator , fan and power steering may be enough to stall it. Check to see if there is a connection to a clutch switch and the stop solenoid in the pump or CPU.-

Pull of the cover under the fly wheel(bell housing) and see if you can turn the throw out bearing with your fingers . If it is jammed then it will be box out to replace the bearing There should be a bit of clearance there to be able to do this

SOURCE: Starts fine, Idles fine, Drives Fine for a while

you might want to chk. the crank sensor and or cam sensor. sounds more to me that it could be fuel problem. chk. fuel pressure. pump could be on its way out. don't be fooled by hearing the pump running as they sound like they are pumping but there not, at least not enought pressure to keep it running. pressure should be around 50 p.s.i.

SOURCE: 98 Isuzu Trooper stalls on cold start, idle issues..

I had the same issue on my 99 Trooper.

It would usually start when completely cold, but idle around 2k RPM.
It would drive fine. But if I shut it down, ran into a store, and came back out, it would start but immediately idle.
Had to ride the gas a little to get it into gear.
The Check Engine light has been going on and off for 6 months or so.

I took this to my local trusted repair shop (no Isuzu dealers within 200 miles).
The diagnosed the light, and found that the Intake Gaskets were bad or leaking.
The idling problem was related to the car not being able to control the amount of air coming in.

They replaced the Intake gaskets by the next day, and I haven't had a problem since. And no more check engine light, which has been on half a year.

Here's some details from my bill:
(1) Intake Gasket set $107.95
Misc materials $21.00
2.1 hours of Labor

The total cost to me was $345.00, and I definately don't feel gipped.

SOURCE: my nissan 350z sometimes stalls after starting

after i replaced the battery in my 2003 350z, it would stall immediatly after i cranked it on unless i gave it a little gas. I fixed this by cleaning the MAF and throtle body valve. Total supply costs were $15 and took about 20 minutes. My Z is not only fixed but runs smoother and cleaner.

What causes un even idling on an Isuzu Kb 300Lx dteq 2009 diesel bakkie ?

A leaking injector or one that may be partially plugged will do it. The injector pump may be worn enough to not supply enough pressure to the injectors. There could be water in the fuel or a filter in need of changing. Low compression on one or more cylinders will do it too

Hi I have a 2000 kb280dt isuzu bakkie need the cylinder head setting

first KB post to say Bakkie, telling me you are in Australia or thereabouts. (outback=Bakkie, sure...)
we don't have KB here in usa and means no books too.
this is a USA forum .
2.8L diesel.
head off?
so you need it all. and that is only in your KB service book
at your ISUZU dealer.

2008 Isuzu dtec d/cab. As soon as I start it have to start it again. When rev'ed up to 2000 RPM, take foot of pedal it dies. After service, it will be fine for a while then it starts again.

is this a KB truck, if yes, where?, we dont have them.here.
last USA ISUZU is jan 2009 D-teq right? (not dtec)
is this one? the 3.0L? 2.5? what/?
4JK1 engine? what? or 4JJ1?????????????
is this just a cold start question? or hot engine too.?
Dteq means diesel. can we know size of engine, and country?
so do you have full engine power, even on hills??????
and can you save the stall with fast right foot, easy?
does start easy and run easy hot, or just cold is problem?????
cant guess that, nop...
so what causes stalls.
well over 50 reasons.
idle controls bad, or bad efi sensors or bad engine, 1,2,3.
if cold starts problems check glow plugs.
low engine compression?
what does service mean, name parts changed. filters?
is it turbo diesel?
which engine, we can never guess,?
bad fuel>?

88 isuzu 4x4 Truck 2.6L. Starts then dies in 2 sec on cold start.

I would try cleaning the throttle valve body and also the automatic idle speed control valve mounted to the throttle body, this is a common symptom of a dirty throttle valve and idle speed control valve. Use a product called "CRC" Throttle valve cleaner, run the engine and spray it into the air intake of the engine with the supply hose removed, hold the throttle up while you do this as it will try to stall, use up about half the can and then shut it down and disconnect the battery NEGATIVE cable for 5 min's to reset the system learned strategy, drive it for a few days and see if this corrects the problem.

Hi, Our ISUZU 280 KB doesn't get diesel through..if you start the bakkie it initially starts but the engine quickly dies even if you floor the accellerator. If you press the "manual diesel pump"

Blockclogs easily if you get some water in the diesel.age in fuel system. Remove both pipes from tank to pump and blow. If clogged replace. Also check fuel filter. That thing

When do u change the cambelt on a audi 4 2.5 diesel convertable 2005

Hi,
The manufacturer recommendation is 100K kilometers, they forget the traffic and idling operation of the engine. Most mechanics would recommend the safest time, that would be 70K kilometers or 3.5 years which ever comes.
Replacing the timing belt with tensioner bearing is must when you replace one of them.
Hope that helps you out.
Thanks for asking FixYa!
