Question about 2001 Chevrolet Malibu
My Chevy Malibu 2001 with 89,000 miles has started idling too high during park. It idles up to about 3 -4. I recently had the brakes done & an oil change and it had been idling a little below 1 before i took it to the mechanic. Now while driving I don't need to press the gas pedal much and it will get up to about 40-50 mph if i don't keep my foot on the brake. Its is difficult for me to brake sometimes when I am trying to slow down.

Back to the mechanic - sounds like either an IAC motor or TPS sensor is the problem, but also could be the throttle cable (sticking leaving the throttle not fully closed).

You probably have a large vacuum leak. With the engine running, listen under the hood for a hissing sound. Check all of the rubber lines running from the intake.
