2003 Toyota Corolla 30 amp keep blowing

Hi there, My 03 corolla started having problems 3 weeks ago, or should i say 4 weeks, I had a catalytic converter installed at toyota and a week later I noticed my car was idleing funny almost like it was going to die, and then my fan kicked on and I went to a business and turned the car off and back on a minute later and it wouldn't start...towed it to toyota and they looked at it for 4 hours and put a new 30 amp fuse in cuz the other was blown...i had a weird feeling before I left and started the car it started, but i turned it back off, and nothing..they replaced the fuse again baffled and now 2 weeks later from that, i had the same problem today..i switched the 30 amp fuse again...2 years ago i bought at auto zone a starter and we replaced..does anyone think this might have something related to this problem? Toyota put a computer on after it started and no faults showed...please help anyone? Thank you..

It sounds like when the cat was changed they have trapped a wire or just moved one over a bit and its rubbing think about what items this 30amp fuse is protecting are any of the items close to the exhaust or around that area, i dont see the aftermarket starter doing this after 2 years hope this is helpful regards JR

TOYOTA COROLLA 1.6L OR 1.8L, HOW DO YOU KNOW

To get to know about the displacement look at the engine codes which are printed along the engine number on the cylinder block, mostly seen from standing in front of the car with the hood opened. Some of the codes are described as under:
S.No. Model Displ. Year
1.1ZR-FE AURIS 1.6L 2007-11
2. 1ZR-FE COROLLA 1.6 2007-11
3. 1ZZ-FE Avensis 1.8L 2003-09
Cilica 1.8L 2000-03
Corolla 1.8L 2002-07
RAV-4 1.8L 2005-09
4. 2ZR-FE Yaris 1.8L 2007-11

I have a problem with a fuse to EFI toyota corolla 2003

Hi there:
Sounds like to have a fuel pump that is shorted out or has too much resistance, this can cause to much of a current draw and blow the fuse. The EFI fuse supplies voltage to the EFI relay and then the fuel pump.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

I have a 2000 Corolla. Engine light was turned off by mechanic but came back on in 1 week. Should the catalytic converter be replaced?

If the code was (catalytic converter below threshhold) its more tlikely that you will not need to replaced the catalytic conv.but is a possiblity. First check your o2 sensors for proper function. These are electrical units in your exhaust that read your air/fuel ratio and are a lot more likely to malfunction.

I have an engine light on to my Toyota Corolla 2003; diagnosed by the autozone OBD11 SCANNER P420. I replaced the oxygen sensor and the light deleted. After driving the car for 30 miles the light came on...

Hi

The trouble areas associated with this code are as follows:
1)Gas leakage on exhaust system
2)Oxygen sensor
3)Heated oxygen sensor
4)Three–way catalytic converter

The idea is to check for exhaust leaks first then the front sensor and rear sensor. If these all check out then the cat needs to be replaced.

Hope this helps. Thanks for using fixYa

2003 toyota corolla catalytic converter

If you want the check engine light to stay off, make sure that the converter is a direct fit, and not a universal. It should work fine then.

What'll happen if I dont fix P0420 code in my 2003 Toyota Corolla

in reality nothings happen, and your saying what do you need to do so you will not encounter this problem again well honestly you cant depend on life on catalytic so i suggest to do your general tune up like changing spark plug, wires, check timing, fuel filter, oil change the way they should be change so it helps the engine burn near stoichiometry because during the oxidation happening in your catalytic if your engine rich or lean or misfiring it could cause a defective catalytic converter.
