Low idle and stall

1999 Buick Lesabre Custom. Car idles pretty low, tries to keep steady and then rev's and drops back to a struggle to not stall out. Able to start the car and drive around town for a few miles. Have been ruling out possibilities. Fuel change, all liquids topped off, and replaced the fuel filter. Any advice? MAS or solenoids you think?

Check your idle air control valve(IAC) its probably dirty and are not able to move freely
the IAC valve controls the air mixture at idol speeds

It can be issue with IAC( idle air control valve) causing the problem.

Low idle p0507 pictures of the part

Sorry to tell you this my friend, but you did overheat the engine. You should have stopped at first warning that the car was hot. The knocking sound is warning of no oil(or not enough) in your car. Now that you have cooked your bearings, seals and gaskets, your car will never be the same again. The solution would be new(or replacement) engine or get a different car.

1999 Chevrolet Geo Metro. I gave my sister a boost one day and they dropped the cables and they touched and surged my car causing it to stall and every since then my rev keeps going high then low high then...

the 'surge' probably did damage to the idle air controller, a device that is commanded by the engine computer to control the engine idle. You are lucky that is all it damaged, it could have been very expensive, as it is, that part is probably less than $100 and fairly easy to replace.

Revs drop coming to standstill

Here is the cause of surges, stalls at stops, slow idle speed, erratic idle speed, rough idle and engine hesitation (and other problems), it is in most cases the idle speed control air-bypass valve and or throttle valve and upper intake, these area's get full of gunk and combustion residue over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls, low idle) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.

1995 Buick Lesabre custom stalling and idle

did you clean the idle speed control air bypass valve?, u do this by spraying carb spray into the intake while the engine is held at hi idle so it won't stall, use up about half the can, then shut down and disconnect battery for 5 minutes to reset system idle learn, drive the car for a few days and let me know if the problem is fixed.

1997 buick lasabre custom

It sounds like you have a vacuum leak or intake gaskets leaking. Try this. Start the engine and let it reach the idle it want to go to. Get you a can of Brake Clean and spray it around the intake manifold (it on the top center of the engine, you may have to removed a plastic cover) If the engine idle changes up or down then the intake gaskets are leaking hence your vacuum leak.
