Try running the engine for five or ten minutes, then unplug the battery cable (starting from positive ) to reset the ECU. Also replace the oil filter. If problem persists, then you may have a faulty oil pump, or a oil line blockage.
Check oil pressure to find out, you can use an Engine Oil Pressure.

My achieva is leaking oil at the front of the engine. i cant see exactly but its above the oil filter some where. Where is it coming from and how do i fix it

It could be coming from the oil filter itself. Sometimes when changing the filter, people can overlook the fact that the gasket from the old filter may have stayed on the engine block. Then when the new one is installed the gaskets double up and it doesn't allow the filter to seal. Causing the leak.

2000 dodge intrepid 140,000 miles uses 5w30 synthetic oil. today the oil light started coming on only at stop signs. pleae advise, thank you

It might be time to move to 10W30 oil in your 11 year old vehicle. Do you change your own oil? Try 3 qts 5W30 and 2 qts 10W30 of what you normally use.

Hi,

The check engine light comes on mostly when you have bad gas tank cup,or you don't tight enough the gasoline.Go to any auto-zone and request the obd scanner,at no charge just leave your driver license or credit card, connect the scanner follow the instructions. They will check up and the check engine light will come off in the next 3 to 5 days.

Check oil light comes on in my 1994 olds achieva

In the oil pan on your car is a sensor that works the ckeck oil light. It is a two wire sensor that just unscrews. It has probably gone out, or hung up. It has a photo cell on it that can go out. If you replace it you might want to wait till your next oil change because you will lose all your oil. Good Luck

Oil light comes on at idle speeds

100000 miles is really the life of engine.if oil light oil comes on check oil pressure it should be 30-80 psi at 3000 rpms.your oil pump is in front timing cover.you have to remove the crankshaft damper.you will need a haynes manual .because you going to have remove timing belt.the manual will help you locate timing marks.
